Chitown - It's early in the season. LSU didn't play any exhibition games and it will show in the early part of the season. Chill out. John Brady is gone and Trent is an excellent floor coach and communicator. Please watch another game and your mind will change. Also, when a team goes 0-16 from the 3 point line, they always look bad so keep an open mind.

Trent is just playing the cards he was dealt right now. He turned a mediocre team into a second round NCAA team last year. He obviously can recruit just by looking at the class he signed last week. Once all his players are here, he'll be fine.

Maineiri is the Anti Miles. In non conference play, early he experiments with the young guys letting them play, pitching rotations and positional players. People have gotten pretty down on him before conference play. Losing to ULL in particular. But, he proves he knows what he is doing

You can't compare coaching in baseball and football. It's just not logical.

It seems like everyone is thrilled with Trent Johnson as coach, and I just do not see what everyone is so excited about.

On offense, this year and last, there is no ball movement. Today against a team that couldn't rebound to save its life, it seemed as if half LSU's points came on putbacks.

I honestly couldn't tell the difference between this game vs ISU and the pickup games at the rec other than the players were taller.

Have they ever run a pick and roll? Spencer and Taz seem like a great combo to be running it. No instead players hold on to the ball for 5 seconds, then pass it off to someone else who holds on to the ball for 5 seconds before taking an ill advised shot. It's garbage basketball. Shouldn't Saint Trent run some sort of offense?

Last year when you had a shooter like Thornton, he could bail the team out when they did nothing on offense. But with mediocre talent on the floor (Green is terrible), having no remnants of organization on offense is going to take its course.

Are you serious? Compared to John Brady, Trent Johnson is a great coach. Trent Johnson is still picking up the pieces from the debacle that was John Brady. If Trent Johnson was our coach the most recent final four year instead of Brady, we win the whole thing.

There is no doubt that John Brady could recruit. But much like a dog chasing a car, he had no idea what do with them once he got them. Tiger20, let it go man.

talked to a former player yesterday, and I asked him about Brady. He basically said that Brady was an absolute joke and that he and the rest of the players did not like him at all.

Oh, and this guy started for 4 years.

would you rather brady still be here ?? the guy won the SEC title last season, took us to the round of 32 and led eventual champ UNC with less than 10 minutes left in the game ... do you think brady could have done that ? have you looked at his first full class that he signed ?

Randolph was probably going to the draft anyway, he was one of those upside players that doesn't do anything in college. Morgan has done little at UCLA and and idk about the other guys. Graham was a thug and was dismissed and Warren and Harris are decent players now.

Brady left Trent an SEC championhip team which was healthy.

No, Brady left a collection of players who did not play well as a team under his coaching. Johnson coached them into a team that won the SEC championship. There is a big difference in the two.

Under Brady it is doubtful that Bo Spencer would have become an effective point guard since Brady never developed an effective point guard during his tenure at LSU. And given Brady's substitution patterns it is doubtful that any of the players would have developed the confidence to take shots that Johnson let them take since those shots would have got them benched by Brady.

i still don't know why bobo morgan chose ucla of all places (other than being in l.a.) he just doesn't fit what they do. he isn't kevin love. and frick me for picking ucla as my ultra sleeper final four pick. when michael roll is taking the final shot of the game for you , you know you're fricked.
