Sam Montgomery hugged a ref during the game so there is personality balance on the D.. So just chill.

I too appreciate your opinion.
I am far from geriatric but may be considered so by some of the teenagers on this board. I played football on both sides of the ball and had scholarships to play in college but went another route. I understand getting "pumped" or in the right mindset for a game. I fully understand trash talk and how if can affect your opponents play. Sometimes creating doubt, confusion, or even anger in your opponet can pay big dividens. I completely understand celebrating a big play, defensive stand, sack, turnover, and scoring.
However, there are both legally and ethically allowable limits in everything we do. It appeared the unsportsmanship in the WVU game particularlly crossed both of those limits. I agree we were not flagged for it, but neither were the WVU players or Holgerson who was clearly overboard. When the media is noticing and fans are noticing, you can bet the refs are noticing too. It is a matter of time before a big play is negated by the ensuing penalty. I have long viewed the Florida teams in general (Miami, Fla, Fla State) as dirty. I do not want LSU to get the same national reputation.
As a side note, with the exception of TIGRLEE, the vulgarity, and name calling in this thread has come from a single side of the argument. I suppose it is "just part of the.." vernacular now.

Again -- bullshite.
BLACK players that didn't do this BS and were very good at DEFENSE.
Kelvin Sheppard (I know I probably misspelled his name)
Randal Gay
Brady James
Glen Dorsey
Anthony Macfarland
Am I saying they NEVER "talked a little trash" -- NO, I am not ---- what I am saying is that it was not so obvious as to be a distraction before and during the game.
I like SWAGGER --- but swagger is just walking out there, lining up and beating your opponent play after play after play.... leaving NO DOUBT you were the better team/player --- it has NOTHING to do with being obnoxious and trash talking play in and play out... nothing.
For the LAST time --- my statement is not age or race based in any way.... I felt the same way at 17 playing in HS football, throughout college, during grad school and today... it's NOT a good and healthy part of the game... which I term "unnecessary".
I stand by EVERY statement I've made.... and I recognized up front that it's something that opinions vary on.
I did not and don't have to resort to name calling, or race card dropping, or dropping FU's on people.
and ANYBODY that thinks, "1980 U swagga" is a GOOD thing -- needs to re-examine the history books .... those U of Miami teams did more damage to college football and are not thought of a "Good" in many circles... they won ... but are largely regarded as classless thugs.... NOT what this Tiger fan wants for LSU.

And for an example of "play like you've been there" look no farther than Dalton Hilliard who set the ball on the turf EVERYTIME he scored at LSU and with the Saints. Went to the sidelines.
Jonhnny Unitas too. Walked off of the field after a TD pass as if to say "been there, done that"

They were not involved in illegal stock trading.. They were doing a little jawing in a football game..

Also had his own celebratory dance move. Back then when everyone else was raising the roof, booger was pushing it down. Loved that dude.

Dude, Lee did not get in the dudes face like a punk. He only did it once. TM does it after every play. Lets see Lee do a thug look for the camera after a TD pass. Now that would be awesome.
Nor did he bare his chest, do a knife to the throat move, etc..... see classless moves by UT quarterback Tyler Bray last season.....
What J Lee did was (I'm guessing here) respond to a thumb (or fist) etc. to the ribs, nutts, or throat under the pile.... and like was said -- it was 1 time -- not repeatedly.

huh... yes and they are on probation as the investigation continues.
It is not about one player, it is about the INSTITUTION.. those who paid the price before you, those who will come after.
This "me" mentality, "what I one", regardless of others is selfish and damaging.

I think Brett Farve did that before as well... But he is white and that was awhile back so since TM appears to be a thug and times are getting worse.. Its unethical for TM to do it.

i can't believe this thread has gone on this long.
pussification of America.
instead championships we should just give everyone participation trophies....and we should stop keeping score because losing may hurt the players feelings

Aw hell. Let the Tigers have some swag for a change, it's not like we go off all the damn time like the U of Miami or anything.
FWIW, there was an epic shite talking movement going on with the WVU squad and their fans.

Both sides of this argument will never end. One side will talk trash until they are blue in the face, and the other side will make a smash mouth tackle and say 15 hail mary's.
Football is a violent sport. We went into a hornet's nest in Morgantown. Entered an enemies violent atmosphere. TM was running his mouth in pregame. I don't know if he was provoked, nor should it matter. This is where he was doing himself the anti swagga. All the onfield trash wasn't taunting. No penalties were thrown. After rethinking 12 pages his mistake was the pregame crap.
