I think you're confusing metallic gold with old gold. LSU had metallic gold in the old days (see "Everybody's All-American").

Also, a few years ago, it was a fad for teams to have metallic or shiny pants.

I hate to say this, but our "gold" is now obviously yellow, not gold. I wish we would go back to old gold.

I'm looking at a picture of Billy cannon right now. It's the same gold we still use. It's all lighting

When the Tigers play UW you will notice only one team is truly wearing purple and gold and it won't be us. Unfortunately we are, as others have mentioned, wearing Canary Yellow!

having been in Tiger Dand, bring back TigerRaf damn it. Aesthetic wise blow up Middleton and make the basement into a reflecting pool.

No, it is not. If you ever get a chance to see some of the actual pants (not pics) worn in the 70's & early 80's and compare to those of today you will see it is a much brighter, yellow-gold now.

I can watch a game from the early 80s and it will still be the same golish yellow. I am not saying that we have some dark gold or anything, but that our gold has always been yellowish. I can watch a game now and see the same thing, sometimes a darker shade, sometimes a lighter one.

Excluding the gold/yellow debate...I definitely want LSU to go back to the Tigerbaiting the opposing teams as they leave the tunnel, that sounds cool as hell and we need to make that happen.
And hopefully Mike will get in his damn cage this year.

I'd wait until closer to the season so it's fresh in people's minds.

We'll start one and get a sticky before the first game.

No, I mean the actual pants. Not on TV, not on DVD. An actual pair from the 80's and one from today.
BTW, our film & digital color as well as print color is vastly different from then and now. It's not the lighting.

Here's a pic of Wickersham

and a current football team pic.

BTW, I may be a little more experienced when it comes to color as it is part of my work for the last 17 years.

The color of the pants has changed many times, the most recent change being in 2006; the shiny "gold" was changed to today's bright yellow. LINK

notice that both are at night and at Alabama (not a lighting issue)

The drums used to do a cadence where the cheerleaders would cheer Go (da da da da da),Go (da da da da da), Go (da da da da da), Go Big Tigers! Go (repeats) . . .

I remember that and would like to see it brought back. I know it was done in the '70's as well (but that's as far as I go back).

Others:
1) Once and far all get rid of that lame, artificial, wretched piped-in music.
2) NIGHT GAMES! If any of these great TV contracts the SEC has with CBS/ESPN and if they have any regard for SEC football traditions, it shouldn't be that difficult for them to keep our home games at night.
3) "You Are My Sunshine" by former LA governor Jimmie Davis. Used to sing this back in the 80's. Still a fun song.
4) Tiger Rag!

One of my issues with LSU marketing & merchandising is that we are not consistent in the color palette like other schools. T-shirts vary in extremes in the "purples" and "golds."
