A recognized gesture to add to my Tiger Baiting Repertoire. Examples: The Hook em Horns (UT) , Gator Chomp(UF), Thumbs up Gig em (TAMU), Texas Tech Pistol (TTU), etc.
I suggest the "the Neck song motion" also known as Bowdown.

How about using our official nickname more often. We're the Fighting Tigers. It should be featured more than it is now.

I like most of the old logos, but you're not going to see them pushed by LSU because of money and control. Those are not LSU's property, they are public domain.
"Sailor Mike" was also used by Auburn and maybe Clemson, but nobody owns the rights, hence the schools can make no money off of it.
The "LSU Tigers" block script logo could not be protected because LSU didn't own the fonts used in it. That's why LSU had the proprietary LSU font created and why it's not available to the public.
The circular tiger head logo that's on the helmet has so many splotches of color all over that it is difficult to replicate in just 2 colors, and it just doesn't look right that way. It's also probably not owned by the university.
The best we can hope for is another NEW logo that looks good. The old ones will never be the stars of the show.

How so? When was it first used and did they not copyright it?
Also, those are some great points.

I could be wrong about them not owning it - that's why I said "probably".

Ole War Skule
Old Tiger logo
And the real old tradition of shaving the heads of freshmen. That should take those arrogant pricks down a peg.

I don't see that one happening anytime soon.

I just checked some of my LSU stuff. The helmet tiger head sometimes has the trademark(TM) sign on it, sometimes not. Same for the block script LSU.
In contrast, the Toonces logos always have the copyright sign on them.
Also, LSU can sue if the combination of exact LSU colors and the words "LSU" and/or "Tigers" are used together. They have some kind of rights on that.

I know, but it would be cool. My dad told me that they used to shave their heads before reposting to campus. If your head wasn't shaved, the upper classmen would basically bumrush you and gouge your hair out.

I wish they had a website devoted to nothing but the old tiger head logo stuff and old LSU lettering and the toonces and geaux font shite was banned from it...i'd buy out that place

I would like to see the fans stop booing when the opposing team comes out before the game. The tradition used to be for everybody to yell "Tigerbait" in unison. Tigerbaiting was unique to LSU and the bad guys always knew where they were when they heard it. Not sure when that started to change, but it was after I left in the 80's.
Also, before kickoffs, fans would wave their arms in a circular motion yelling "Gooooooo!". At the moment the toe hit the ball, everybody would yell "Tiiiigers!"
That was cool.

I don't get to a lot of games anymore, but I didn't see much of that the last few times.

Everyone just yells "ooohhhhhh" then gives a little extra umph when the ball is kicked. Unless everyone but the student section is doing it and I can't hear it, then I'm pretty sure we haven't been doing the geaux tigers on kickoffs.

I thought we were all yelling "geaaauuuuuxxx"
