Bad defensive call.
If you're going to play that far off, you play 1/4s, not three deep. It was a short field so zipping in a pass between the DBs wasn't a tough throw for a high level QB.

Safety was staring at the quarterback, like he thought he was a 20 yard deep spy in the end zone.
No other routes pulled him off. He just didn’t pay attention to a standard vertical right into his zone. Literally his only job

it was a good pass but 31 was took a step in the wrong direction and was slow to react... I think Spears probably breaks it up, maybe picks it. Chambliss has a cannon though

Jimcoily was lost.
Defense immediately got better when they just ran a three safety look with Thomas.
I thought Baker’s call was weak too.
Should have had more defenders near the endzone.

agree....a horrific defensive call, mainly because all LSU had to do was stop them anywhere short of the goal line. They were going to kick a fg from any where on the next play if incomplete, but LSU plays a ridiculous 1/3 defense at 2 levels, one being in the EZ. One of the worst defensive calls I have ever witnessed...huge gaps to throw in . That play call and the missed pass to 44 wide open on the goal line were the determinant plays of who won and lost that game

Absolute horrible play by the safety but he should have never been put in that situation in the first place.

Safety was spying QB instead of spying receivers. Weeks was on the QB. Safety just f-ked up.
