Maybe Germans but glad to know the history of this Tiger Logo.

Interesting read. I knew the logo had been used by a ton of other Tiger schools, but always assumed it started with LSU.

While I do like that logo, I prefer the circle Tiger head of the 1970's that most fans tend to think of as the REAL Tiger.

While looking for that logo, I found this which, honestly...is a better rendition of what the new take on the logo was trying to be in my opinion. Not sure who is responsible for it, but I like it better than the new one. Same idea...circle Tiger head, symmetrical...just more appealing to my eyes.

i think that one it too cartoonish still.

the new one instantly reminds me of the helmet (circle) tiger, and i really like that.

That logo is worse than toonces. Cartoonish and ugly.

No, really. I'm not crapping on the new version that replaces Toonces, because it sure as shite is a huge upgrade. But in terms of which looks more like an actual Tiger and is more easily read from a distance, can be reproduced in various mediums, etc...I do prefer this other version. I think it's the better eye placement that reads more natural. I don't mean with the stripes and all...just the head. Just not sure where it came from...might just be fan art.

No doubt that's what it is...a revamped version of the circle helmet logo, and for that LSU, finally, needs some applause. It's what they should have been doing back in 2002.

I just prefer this other one. The more I look at both of them next to each other, there's something far more natural about the layout of the eyes...closer to the nose and in the correct place. Just a personal preference.

Either way, off season topic will off season topic. Glad to be rid of Toonces and cool story about Sailor Mike.

I'm in the VAST minority when it comes to the Eye, as I haven't been a fan of that design since I was a kid in the 80's when they introduced it. I love that it's unique, but far too often it looks more like an airbrushed T-Shirt from Spring Break then a solid logo.

But, I know I'm in the minority on that one...

The new logo (PMAC floor) is an A+.

The logo you like is as bad as toonces.

WarBlogle is one of the most butthurt homer superfans I've ever met in my life. He takes sports and fandom entirely too seriously and is an embarrassment to sports blogging. For example, when writing a "manual retweet," he uses WE instead of the typical RT....(War Eagle instead of Roll Tide).

That being said,

quote:

Wait, it gets worse.

Not only did he graduate from Alabama, but he created it for LSU before it came generic clip art for other teams that use a tiger mascot like Princeton, like Missouri, and yes, like Auburn. Talk about a double whammy.
and calling it "pseudo-proof" the whole time

He probably cried while writing this.
