i'm no longer as passionate (and that's sad) about lsu basketball as i was years ago....chris jackson & big john williams, 2 of my favs were incredible players to watch back in the day.

it'll take awhile but if trent can start winning next season, the fans will slowly start coming back.

it's simple, all you need is talent.

Maybe I don't have a clue, I just know that people at LSU want a winner, hell 9-4 in football isn't good enough. Call me a realist, but I don't see a good end to this, and if LSU isn't willing to put up the money for a better coach we should keep Trent, hell we should have kept Brady if we want to stay mediocure.....

Why should I? Just because you settled in for years of mediocrity doesn't mean others have.

Find a Coach who can actually Coach, and stop this Faux Basketball.

Going from history he is going to play a horrendous non-conference home slate

Next year's non-conference slate should actually draw some decent interest from LSU fans. First we have an appearance in the Charleston Classic which has a field that includes Georgia Tech, Baylor, St. Johns and Seton Hall ( I realize those last two aren't necessarily great but hey, people complain about playing all in-state opponents and those are very much not in-state). Second, UVA returns our 2010 trip next year so UVA will be visiting during the season. We also start a home and home vs. Marquette (first game in BR) next year. We are also playing in the SEC/Big East invitational (which is adopting the ACC/Big 10 challenge format next year) but I'm not sure if we are home or on the road for that one. Either way we have a major step up in non-conference games next year (unfortunately I do not have the full schedule b/c LSU hasn't released it, but I do know that these games are taking place). Now does that mean LSU will win? No, but you have to admit that those games should have some kind of pull on fans, especially if we start the season hot

Actually I don't get to watch, since they are so bad that they don't get on TV here in North La, and I can't afford to drive to BR for a team this bad.......

What I don't understand is how Trent continually allows these guys to come down the court and just jack up three's with 17+ seconds remaining on the shot clock with the lead. No basketball I.Q.

It really doesn't matter who we will play next year, we are ULM as far as bb goes, we can play KS, Georgetown, & NC, but we would have to play them on the road.........and we would lose all 3.
If you think small you will probably accomplish it,,,,,,,,,,we are there, and I don't see the commitment to change it.

Calipari made the same call with the same result tonight against Florida.

So does that mean TJ and Coach Cal are on the same level?

Trents coaching at the end of this game was inexcusable

I'm with ya' msu. So our play is an ISO for Stringer? He hasn't beaten anyone one-on-one off the dribble all night.

Kid had a good game tonight, by far his best defensive effort, and the kids all played with as much intentsity as I've seen from them since early this year.

What was more mistifying is having Green try to guard Sydney. WTF?

It means what it means. I see coaches make that exact same call all the time.

This team hasn't gotten any better all year. I defended Trent at first. I thought it was youth but I am not sure the team hasn't gotten worse.

His peers in three different conferences thought enough of him to name him Coach of the Year three times!

Coach of the Year Awards!
2003 - Western Athletic Conference
2008 - Pac-10 Conference
2009 - Southeastern Conference

I don't think he forgot how to coach and his peers know more basketball than his critics on the Rant!

He chose to go this route to rebuild the program. It is obviously painful to watch and listen to on the radio. For me, next season will be his make or break year. I'm not even calling for an NCAA birth, but an NIT birth would be nice along with a .500 record in conference.

If not I would liken him to a Rich Rod and Michigan, solid coach wrong fit/philosophy for this program.

Is this how low we've sank? This isn't football people, in basketball turnarounds can happen overnight. If Johnson is around next and doesn't show major improvement, at least to the point where we are the best team in the state, his behind needs to be shown the door.

Yea, and this year Malcolm White was supposed to be the next best thing since sliced bread......
