Video of Les Lying About Telling Jefferson to Spike
quote:
Heres another angle.
I see your point, but there aren't any refs looking at Miles. If you put the videos together, the only people Miles could be in communication with are the players. But I can see your point. My issue is that Jefferson said he recieved the signal from the sideline and you can see him look over there at 2:09. It's clear a coach gave him the call and every reporter on the sideline said it came from Les. On top of that, there are posters on this site who know players personally who are saying the call came from Les.
And the plot thickens....if players, media, and fans say Les miles was calling for the spike then how can it still be refuted?

My point is the video only shows Miles calling for possession. It cannot be used by WBRZ as evidence of a spike call. I have no clue about the actual call, only what is on the video.

Fair enough.

Honestly Robb I wish it would go away because at this point it hurts the program no matter what. I can't imagine this not being used at some point to prevent recruits from coming here. Who knows what effect it will have but it's certainly out there.

We don't know that he was calling for the spike. And he might have been right when the ball was caught, but once he realized there was only one second left he wouldn't have been.

inexcusable. miles should not be a head coach anywhere. as long as he's here, lsu football will remain a joke.

The play calling, not just for this game, shows that Les is not the caliber of coach deserving the LSU job or the salary that goes with it.
Throwing a 19 year old kid under the bus and lying about it deserves an immediate pink slip.
Getting rid of him may not be able to be done financially, but Les has lost the respect of his players and future recruits after this debacle.

bump...Miles clearly says I do not know who told him to spike the ball...roll video Miles signals to spike the ball. He was out of control in a moment when he was suppose to be in control. Players will not play for a coach like this. "See ya" Miles.

just really sad. I feel badly for the players.

Miles and Crowton need to pack ther shite and leave.

The bottom line that all you idiots don't get is that Les Miles is more of an idiot than you. He's had no clue of what is going on on the field since he got here, much less how much time is on the clock, ie:2007 Auburn game. They blew the call on the last time out and at that point he should have had the FG team at the far end ready to go on. Les Miles SUCKS!!! He and his staff need to go NOW!!

As far as being able to afford his buyout, who gives a shite fire him and let him hire an attorney to get it. He obviously broke something in the contract to refuse his buyout, He lied and rolled a 19 year old under the bus!!!!

I didn't bother reading all the posts.
It's pretty clear Miles is signaling for the spike when Tolliver is getting up. That means Jefferson is about 30 yards downfield. I think that's a panic reaction, but not sure it's his final instructions to his QB.
The bottom line is the coaches did not prepare for a scenerio where they convert a 1st down, and have to get the FG unit on the field. If they have time to run Jefferson and the OL down the field for the final play, they have time to run the FG team out there. Total cluster frick.

break it down frame by frame, like the Zapruder film of the JFK assassination.
Or, get a life.
