Memory lane seeing some of these names. Such a fun 35 years of baseball.

Al Leiter.

Damn good in the bigs, threw a no-no and won a ton of games. If that is the comp, its a worthy one.

A two-time National League (NL) All-Star player, Leiter pitched for three World Series winning teams and threw a no-hitter in 1996 during his tenure with the Marlins. As a member of the New York Mets, Leiter was named the recipient of the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award in 2000. After his playing career, he worked as a television color commentator and baseball analyst for the YES Network and the MLB Network.

It is something how in our last 4 championships we have had a reliever come on late and be crucial to our championship
2000 Hodges
2009 Jones, not really a poor early season, just only a few prior apperances
2023 Cooper, only 2 saves for the entire season were at CWS
2025 Shores, struggled to find the plate all year to no walks in SR and CWS

Statistically this bullpen was impressive. Probably the best 2 starting duo in the country and then you had Evans out of the pen who was basically a starter too.

This shows how elite Aaron Nola was

Nola was incredible, but it's important to note that he pitched during the peak of the dead bat AND dead ball era, which no doubt helped his numbers. If Skenes pitched from 2012-2014 I have no doubt his ERA would have been below 1

Is Sirotka the greatest starting pitcher in LSU history? He's got the rings and the stats to back it up.

One thing you can probably guess, when gorilla ball days were based on other teams hitting on us as well. But we beat them.

I recall Matty "Out" Ott being such a reliable closer. He had an above average fast ball and a nasty curve.

Mike Sirotka 1993 1.99

One of the most underrated pitchers in LSU history.

He pitched 5 complete games for the White Sox in 1998. He had 3 complete games with a 4.0 ERA in 1999. In 2000 he won 15 games with a 3.79 ERA.
