Fire Bo Pelini:
Defense has looked better over these last couple games. But the stats are stats. This LSU defense has the talent as many can see. But time and time again there are blown assignments, not understanding the scheme or flat out not knowing what to do.
LSU must make this move at this point.

Hire a young offensive mind:
Russ Callaway seems like a guy who can move up fast. He is young and is a great player coach. LSU needs some new spark it seems. And why not try to get that spark with Russ. Wouldn’t have to hire him, just promote him. PGC is probably the best fit for him.

Young Safeties develop:
The weak link throughout the year was safety play it seems. Not sure how much Hampton and Harris can develop more than what they are now. Luckily LSU saw this problem and signed the top 2 safeties in the country. They need these 2 guys to step in right away it feels and contribute.

O line needs improvement:
The O line was the worst part on the offense this year. Mostly this group struggled in run blocking. They need significant improvement if the tigers want any running game or avoid another QB injury. LSU did not recruit O line that well this cycle of recruiting. So these guys developing is a must.

Arik Gilbert stays:
Game changing type player. Arik Gilbert needs LSU and LSU needs him. Your talking best TE in football next year with his return.
The Tigers desperately need to hang on to Gilbert this offseason.

No Opt outs/ Quitters:
Season was ruined from Opt outs. LSU needs to get players that are all in. Don’t let one bad apple ruin the bunch. Now with Covid potentially not as big of a factor we might not see it as much. But LSU must be aware. The big name regarding this is All American DB Derrick Stingley.

Linebackers improve:
They weren’t to bad this year. They definitely were playing better at the end of season. The main struggle however was run support it seemed. I expect linebacker group to be great though this upcoming season. As the number 1 Juco LB has decided to join the group. If Jabril Cox returns then that’s the icing on top.

Find your go to DL package:
LSU switched guys in an out constantly last year. I get it’s for certain downs but we need our guys to get a rythm. We have studs on this DL we need just need to use them more.

Steve E changes style a little:
Offense was not our problem this last season.
But in certain games/ certain times it would go stale. We saw it happen several times this year. Texas AM Bama games come to mind. And even Arkansas game. E needs to address this and fix it. This offense should never be held down the way it was in the Texas AM game.

Fire Scott Linehan:
He and Steve did not mesh well at all. Concepts didn’t match I guess. Steve needs a Joe Brady to help design and get creativity.
Also Linehan didn’t seem to bring that extra element to the team like Brady. For example the 1,000 catch thing with the WRs last season. It’s just not a good fit overall it seems.
LSU must make this move.

Just my thoughts. What do y’all think?

Yes you do he’ll be the best TE in college football and a game changer. You need him.

I agree on all points though this team will be fine without Gilbert. But they will certainly be better with him so I hope he stays.

We certainly need Gilbert. You can’t just let that type talent/potential walk away.

No you don’t. He was basically just a big WR. Wasn’t good at and didn’t like doing half the responsibilities of what it takes to be a game changing TE. LSU doesn’t need more WR. They will be fine.

Gilbert is last on that list of things that we need to happen.

I like him but if he goes, who is to say he won't just fold up like a cheap chair again. The kid has all the potential in the world but if he does't get harder than it won't matter much.

Gilbert is great but the coaching changes are way way way more important than having him back.

He is a huge plus though if he wants to come back

Gilbert is a great talent but he is a luxury not a need for LSU. And if he is not willing to become at least a competent blocker he will never be as great as he can be.

Having a normal offseason and reestablishing the team culture is the key. It’s obvious the lack of team activities caused issues in leadership.

I think O and the coordinators biggest mistake this season was not stepping in and taking a more direct leadership role from the beginning.

I don’t agree with this. D line is the one position group I am perfectly fine with changing guys out every other play if you can. I don’t mean put scrubs in but if you have any quality bodies to do it then do it. Those dudes take a pounding throughout the course of a game. I want them fresh as possible going into the 4th quarter.

Would love to have Gilbert back, but we just won the last two without him. We'll survive if he doesn't return.

Need run stoppers and thumpers. Period. We were soft, soft, soft on D. Everything else is gravy.

Sure, it would be great to have Arik Gilbert back, after all that we’ve invested in him. We want to keep our players, especially players who have great potential.

But I’m going to be real honest with you. These last two games that Arik Gilbert didn’t play? I hardly noticed the difference. He may have game changing talent and be a game changer one day for LSU in the future, but right now, he’s just another tight end on the roster. We scored a metric shitload of points without him.

Right now there’s a case building that Gilbert being out... is addition by subtraction.

No, we don't need a guy who could be better than Kyle Pitts.

The meth problem in this country is worse than I thought.
