Say what you want about Toonces, but under the Reign of Toonces, LSU was very successful. Two football national championships, a baseball title, and a Final Four.
You would think that, as superstitious as LSU fans are... so ready to proclaim possums, spiders, and, God help us, beach balls as winning totems... that they would recognize a winning symbol (Toonces) when they see one.

ALL MODERNIZED CARTOON LOGOS ARE FKIN CHEESY.
its amazing that sports teams almost always revert back to the classic logo. the classic alligator standing on the UF or "Albert" with his hat and hands on his hips is so much better than cartoon crocodile. The classic UGA is the shite. That new age hydrocephaluc cartoon bulldog blows goats.
