Lets say he puts up similar stats as his soph year (would be insanely impressive without crews around), does his number get retired and hung at alex box or is he considered a mercenary due to transfer portal and only 2 years at lsu?

Good point. If he wins a national POY award that should do it. Furniss was the Howser, Ben was Spikes. Crews and Skenes pending... just need the artwork. I think Walker was CWS MVP.
