I am not as sold on Moffit as some here however I assume he can only run the ship as strict and tight as the head coach allows him. I think under Saban that Moffit could be as demanding as needed but not so sure the same holds under cool hand Les. Regardless we are no where near as physical these days as Bama and Florida and the gap is widening each year.

read his bio. look at the recognition he's received. Look at the other coaches who have tried to hire him away from LSU. To those in the business, he's recognized as an elite S&C guy. May not be enough for Rantards though.

Steroids or not.....LSU looked gassed many times in games. Course, one could argue that it was due to the O not being able to stay on the field and I think thats a valid argument.

The offense never looked overly tired and why should they. Too often they ran three plays and jogged off the field. The defensive team showed amazing conditioning considering they spent the great majority of most games out on the field against very good opponents. They did get worn late in several games but you can't blame that on lack of conditioning. I did find that the Tigers young Olinemen were not as bulked up as every other Moffitt class has been. Hopefully that will prove to be an anomaly and they'll be large and in charge in '10.

The only people I know in "the business" are the S&C coaches of the Indy Colts. They assessed Addai before the draft and advised the owner not to draft him based on the screens Joe performed for them. He was basically a ticking time bomb when it came to his readiness for game action. As we know, the colts drafted him and the S&C coaches changed everything about the way he trained. NOW, this is not necessarily an indictment of moffitt. It may be on Addai's shoulders. All I'll say is that the way players "look" has little to do with the way they perform. That's not debatable. So don't judge moffitt because you think the Tigers were a few inches short on the biceps measurement

Is the "coach holding Moffit back" comment based on any fact or is that just your opinion? If it's your opinion, what led you to this opinion? BTW, Florida scored an Urban Meyer record low 13 points against us and we held a lead on Alabama in the 4th quarter. I wouldn't say the gap is that huge.

One could argue that if you would play better before a team got to the red zone, you might not be gassed.

first, miles shouldn't have much input on the way moffitt goes about his job. Moffitt is not an OC or DC. Miles is not gonna go tell Dr. andrews how he think he should perform a surgery. As long as his players perform on the field and stay off the surgery table...let moffitt do what he was hired to do. Miles has no expertise in that area like he does when it comes to telling assistants what should be done

The Saban steroid era is over.
Alabama was the biggest team I've seen this year.
LSU wasn't even close to them physical wise.

This explains why Saban is so huge? Maybe his players just look bigger standing next to his little Napoleon arse!

I understand that Moffitt is sick, and that this has taken up a great deal of his focus. Whether that has anything to do with the product on the field, no one can say for sure.

Joe still trains with Moffitt when he's in town, FWIW. I assume however that he does what the Colts want him to do.

Moffitt has farmed out so much talent to other teams, i.e. Scott Cochran for Bama.

He had surgery last week and is fine now. Had nothing to with his focus through the bowl game.

Yeah, and I would assume that moffitt has a system in place. and in his absence, his assistants just follow the system

Forget the score we got our arse whipped physically by Bama and Florida. It was embarassing especially in Tuscaloosa cause they beat us like a bitch and our training staff was constantly having to go out and pick up another wounded one.
