We will see what this team is made of this afternoon. Huge game, really need the W and the series win.

I haven’t given up yet, go Tigers!

The only thing softer is this fanbase.

People keep saying this, yet they have showed us over and over who they are. They won't win this game. They don't have it in them, and they will only win 1 next weekend as well. Its who they are.

They have played alot better the last 5 sec games. Kept them close, i expect fight and a close game. Keep it close until holton departs, then win it late

Yeah, what is the old saying about when someone shows you who they are...believe them. This team's pitching is shite! Jump and Hurd are not cutting it. Anderson who people were high on early hasn't done well...even against mid-week teams. And even Holman has been disappointing. Ackenhausen lately has been ineffective. Right now, the only LSU pitcher I would trust to get batters out is Griffin Herring whose ERA has gone down from 10 to probably around 2 or 2.5 by now...and he has lowered it AFTER SEC play started. The rest of the pitching staff has been hideous!

Wow, not funny man. Last 4 starts for anyone not keeping up with Holman lately. 5.2 IP 4 ER, 4.1 IP, 3 ER, 6 IP 1 ER (his only good start of the 4), and then 4.2 IP 2 ER including 10 hits. If anyone thinks those are good numbers, they know squat about baseball. He has been lucky to only have 1 loss because a game or 2, LSU tied up the game and someone else was credited with the L.

Luke holmans last 4 starts are 21ip 20 hits 9 walks 31k’s .241 baa with a 4.35 era. He has been fine.

Thursday he was pitching with a 9 run lead, thats not easy, and requires him to pitch a bit different.

Good analogy. Would love to seem them perform like you’re saying this afternoon.

Those are NOT good numbers for those games even for college. He is the Friday night starter and his WHIP is almost 1.5 the last 4 appearances. 4.35 is not a good ERA, man! It simply isn't. Herring's ERA is now 2.4 so I guess he is All American right? And Thursday wasn't his worst game of the 3 bad ones. Once again, Holman has been very disappointing lately and should have more than 1 loss but LSU tying one or two games up got him off the hook for the loss.

Depends on your expectations for him.

Talking to the wrong guy, pitcher w/l record is damn near meaningless to me

Yeah, and not that long ago, Herring's ERA was 9.9 I believe. Ironically, he has lowered it during SEC play. As far as Holman's expectations, the 1st game starter of the series is supposed to be the best pitcher/stud of the starters. So yeah, he certainly has not been a great pitcher in 3 of the 4 SEC games...not even a good pitcher. W/L is pretty meaningless, I agree with you on that. But I thought someone might throw the 6-1 record in there as a rebuttal.
