I was playing a pickup game with my family at my grandmothers house when the news broke. The greatest Tiger of them all, RIP Pistol.

He was born with only 1 coronary artery and became a champion at one of the sports that require elite cardiovascular endurance.

He was a man of great faith and conviction. His last words were, "I feel great." There just has to be some life lessons in there, somewhere.

Pete Maravich

To me Pete Maravich was the first true technician as a basketball player, to him the game was a science to such a point where he was able to be creative with the ball and bring entertainment value to games that really hadn't been observed outside Harlem Globetrotter games and when Cousy played, he brought Rucker Park and the streets to mainstream basketball and popularized it, dude was literally unstoppable as an offensive force LSU was truly blessed

When Pete was still with the Hawks, they signed Dr J in the pre-season. The NBA voided the contract before the season started, but they played a few pre-season games together. In Dr J's biography, he talks about playing and practicing with Pete. He says they started playing 1-on-1 after practice for dinner and that the results were evenly split. Obvious respect for Pete. Can you imagine if we had cell phone video of those games?

My father purchased season tickets from his freshman thru senior year. I was blessed to have seen all his home games, thanks dad. And to think, none of his freshman points went to his point total, and he scored 741, and his jersey number was 24. Thanks Pete....

Just imagine what his average points per game would've been with a 3 point line.

Guy is overlooked a lot in the NBA world but the ball handling and shooting from any position would make Steph Curry jealous.
