ok. That makes no sense whatsoever.

What is so difficult to understand? Tens of thousands were estimated to be present; formal statements that survive number in the low hundreds because that’s how many people were actually interviewed and recorded by the parish, the diocese, newspapers, and later researchers. I don't think I have ever claimed that every single person was interviewed. If you think the size of the documented sample discredits the reports, you’ll need to say why.

I mean, a miraculous event that would be earth shattering witnessed by 70,000 people that is actually only documented by a few hundred people, some of whom said they didn’t see anything isn’t exactly overwhelming evidence of anything.

The documented statements number in the low hundreds because that’s how many formal or recorded accounts have survived from the parish inquiries, diocesan commission, newspapers, and later researchers - not because only a few hundred people present reported seeing anything. Contemporary press accounts described a large crowd reacting to the phenomena, and reviews of the collected testimonies do not show a majority of non-witnesses. Some people did report seeing nothing, that is true, and the accounts vary in detail. However, the limited number of preserved statements is ordinary for a large 1917 gathering and doesn’t by itself show that the reports were sparse.

The more relevant questions are whether the descriptions are consistent enough, whether the sun itself moved (there is no astronomical confirmation), and whether optical and psychological factors under the conditions that day can account for what people reported.

It just doesn’t though. I disagree.

I witnessed the phenomenon described here in Medjugorje and I wasn’t alone. Hundreds of people stood in front of that church and saw the same thing. My Faith gives me a lens to understand it, but your attempt to dismiss what I directly observed - something blatantly outside the realm of normal; that doesn’t erase reality. You can label it a “solar anomaly” if that helps you sleep, but that still means a solar anomaly occurred.

Yeah, I’m going to have to go with the sun itself didn’t move. Good lord. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

Well, if it makes you feel any better I'm also in that camp.
