Kayshon was a 3rd round pick at best this year. He started poorly and began rounding in to form late in the year. If he wanted to be a 1st rd pick he needed to come back.

Over a thousand players entered the transfer portal today. Money can be had for a player like Boutte anywhere he can pick.

Not to mention there’s just a bit of money to be had in the draft, even if his stock has fallen a little

Boutte can play himself back into the first round next year while also attempting to win a title at LSU. Win-win all the way around. Says a lot about his mindset and maturity to assess the situation in its entirety.

The program defining day was when we opened up the checkbook and guaranteed an elite-level coach WITHOUT a Natty on his resume damn near $100 mill to come lead our program.

Hiring BK was the program-defining moment.

Boutte announcing he's staying is more confirmation of that.

I think Boutte can be a top 5 overall pick with Walker or Nuss throwing him the ball next year and he knows it

Good. That’s what it should be used for. Keeping experienced players by rewarding performance. Never was supposed to be used as recruiting incentives.

JD isn’t my favorite tiger qb or anything, but if this is Nuss’ team next season, I think we do worse than we did this past year. Now is it an investment for the future? They may have a higher ceiling in 2024 with a veteran Nuss… who knows?

I agree. I think the previous regimes tried to show players going to the NFL early as a recruiting draw. Kelly is clearly pushing the image of winning championships.
