They don't think that what they are getting is worth the money. They don't like paying $40 to walk a mile to the stadium. And, they don't like what the fee is going to do to the tailgating experience.

If they don't think they are getting their money's worth, then they should not go anymore.

It's basic supply and demand.

I'm willing to bet there will no significant dip in attendance.

of course

maybe. But, my group of 8 that spends between $3000 and $4000 per year on tailgating is seriously considering not doing it. We are probably 50/50.

I tend to think if 75% of the people who throw tailgates is unhappy, some will stop tailgating.

I also think people like my group who spent several thousand on a trailer simply for the convenience are going to be pretty aggravated that tailgating is now much less convenient.

I also tend to think that people who were guests of tailgates and spent very minimally probably won't be willing to spend $40 just to go to the tailgate. If fewer people come to our tailgate, we are less likely to continue doing it.

Maybe people will just suck it up. It's possible.

For us, $90 a week just for the trailer and truck pulling it is a pretty significant expense.

Why should LSU give a damn about people who just tailgate and don't go to the game? what does LSU get out of those people ? And WHY the hell does one need a trailer to haul shite to a tailgate ? Maybe a ice chest or two, tv, etc and you're done. A damn trailer? LOL. overkill.

I think you shouldn't be allowed to drive onto campus without a ticket.

That's counterintuitive. If we aren't willing to spend $90/game and the added inconvenience for a nice size tailgate, we certainly aren't going to do it for a small tailgate.

But why do you need a big arse tailgate to have fun with friends on game day ? Can't you have just as much fun with a smaller one ?

why dont you let people tailgate however the frick they want to tailgate? we used a trailer with a built in generator, that hauled a couple tables, gas cans, TV, canopy, bunch of chairs, few totes with food and supplies. thats why someone would bring a trailer, and i dont think thats excessive at all

I have tried to get from 2 to 5 season tix for over 12 years now. If some of u are serious about not attending anymore because of these increases, PLEASE give me a shot at your tix, parking passes, etc. I will pay cash today!

7 story parking garage where old Alex Box was. All the late arriving ticket holders that don't tailgate can park there for $20 bucks a pop (roughly would hold 3500 vehicles). The hayfield is in BFE in all honesty it should not be a pay lot. I'm assuming my group will still have our tailgate, the money is not an issue, but several of us do not live in BR and arrive at about 6AM on gameday. We are more worried about the logistical nightmare of getting passes and not pissing away an hour waiting in some stupid line. And yes 75% of us are season ticket holders.

People who are complaining are not literally trying to figure out how to come up with the money

So in other words the people complaining are being women about it. Men don't complain just to complain, we come up with SOLUTIONS.

Women do that shite. Wahhhhh. Spare us.

i SERIOUSLY doubt anyone with season tix will stop going because of the fees. i didnt renew, but it had nothing to do with the parking fees

it's the people who go to just have a good time, party, tailgate, watch on the TV out there and the people who go hoping to land a ticket by walking around. they are the ones who are going to think twice about leaving the house now.

That is a good point. Shitty games may definately have less people at them this year. LSU won't care that ticket has already been purchased.
