WVU wasnt the same when they went down, nor have they been the same since Rod and these 2 guys left. It is possible that dana isnt as good as rich rod was for yall. Ur 4 games in and have zero quality wins. Maryland against temple was just pathetic.

Either way yall are still 2 years away from seeing the true potential of the team with this coaching staff.

We do out-recruit everyone in our conference, which is why we have dominated the Big East over the last 4-5 years. The problem is we aren't, and likely won't ever, out-recruit the LSU's of the world. It is improving but we will have to rely on scheme in order to have major success. It would be awesome to have the beasts that you guys have on defense, but it just isn't realistic for us to expect to field a defense of that athleticism and size.

LSU didnt just have great players. We actually had to dig ourself out of the whole that was the 80s while seeing louisianas best players leave for other teams. Winning solves everything.

When did yall last win the big east? Pretty sure i havent seen yall in a bcs bowl for the past 4-5 years. And this is without va tech and miami. Thats not good enough. Just like if we dont win the west anytime soon people will want les miles out. Some already do.

2007? I would not call that dominating the big east over the last 4-5 years.

Now I know you're just trolling. It took Rod years to get the spread up to speed, his first season as a HC was bad. He had to go out and recruit his own guys (White and Slaton) to make his offense efficient. On top of that we're 3-1, one loss to the #1 team in the country. My question is how does Holgs get these "quality wins" when they're not on the schedule, schedules are made years in advance, you're going to hold that against him. Rich Rod wasn't an over night success like you seem to believe, there was a fair amount of struggling and trying to fit the pieces into place. In fact his coming out party was in 2005 (the team that beat UGA) it wasn't until mid-season against Louisville that we kind of figured out where the pieces should lay. Pat White was the starter there on out, that took 5 years to get what would become our signature offense.

We beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl in 2008.

But I actually agree with your other points. Bill Stewart era set us back a few year, but we believe we are back to being a consistent top 10 like we were under Rich Rod.

The pass blocking wasn't really that impressive.

We must have watched two separate games. Zero sacks, and LSU fans right here on this very board talking about how much time Geno had to throw.

I don't think they could've done a better job pass blocking vs. what is routinely touted as the fiercest D-line in the country.

I thought the pass blocking was exceptional, especially given that earlier this week I would have pegged our o-line as the weakest link and your d-line as your strongest.

But yall were 07 big east champs. not 08 correct? I didnt watch yall enough to know rods offense. how similar is it to what dana is trying to run? Cus if it is similar at all than you have the players already to run it.

And with ur schedule you will have to beat those ooc teams to gain the respect you are looking for. Win the big east win ur bcs bowl and you will gain that respect back. No one was doubting yall were a good team in 05 and 07.

Playing in the car care bowl and champ sports bowl is not going to earn you respect. Just like LSU has had to crawl its way back from 07 to finally get the media sucking on our shafts and get off the les miles sux train.

Ur rt im posting on the tiger rant. directed towards ur dumb arse fans that say they would have won without the turnovers and our players flopping. These same fans think you could waltz in the sec and actually win it. LSU finished 3rd in the west last year and could finish 3rd again this year.

As a WVU fan through and through, I would call any fellow fan an idiot if they made a statement like this. The LSU game was unwinnable for us this year.

That said, who is saying such things here at TD?

after rewatching the game...LSU was getting very close to Gino...but when your QB is throwing the ball in about 1.5 seconds...to a guy 5 to 10 yards down field....its really hard to actually get to him.

In the second half...LSU decided to pretty much just rush 4 guys against usually 6 blockers. You do the math.

While I think WVU Oline did a good job (although i saw alot of uncalled holding)...WVU was not gonna call any passing plays that took more than a couple of seconds to get off...that's just reality.

But again...the WVU oline really did a good job.

If there was any uncalled holding, you can't call it homecooking. The refs on the field were SEC.

Not saying you were, just saying you can't.

We were actually co-champs of the Big East last year, but not one WVU fan is proud of only being co-champs in such a weak conference. Bill Stewart had 9+ wins in all 3 season, and our AD still had the balls to make a change because he wants to compete with the LSU's of the world, not just be co-champs of a pathetic Big East conference.

We think Holgorsen's offensive mind can get us as close as possible to that. The goal is getting back to the point where BCS Bowl games are expected and that is the expectation this season. Let's hope we can live up to it.

I would rather have had Big East refs on the field. SEC has the absolute worst refs and Penn Wagers is the worst one.

I thought the officiating was pretty fair. Go check out Claiborne getting hit in the face about 5 times before he finally reacts with a shot of his own...and he gets the 15 yard penalty...which was huge.

I dont think the SEC officials helped LSU AT ALL...especially considering after rewatching the game i though there was alot of uncalled holding

There were a couple after the game saying we were not that great. But before the game was when the sec talk was heating up. It just doesnt bode well for ur fans to think lsu is overrated. Id rather lose the the number #1 team in the country than any one else. Yall take care of business finish with 1 loss yall could easily be sitting top 5 at end of year because of how good lsu is. Losing to LSU is not going to hurt your ranking. Look at Oregon, back in the top 10 and still poised to go to the rose bowl.
