I don't think that Miles wants a playmaker at QB

Do you think he wants corners who can cover? Linebackers who can tackle? Receivers who can catch?

I know I'm getting a little carried away, but yours is such a novel concept.

It is going to be a long day if Bo Wallace has the gaping holes to run through that Dak Prescott and Nick Marshall did. Defense is the key to a W.

Defense Always is the Key to Staying in any Game.

Turn Overs and Short Fields ...may get LSU points enough to Win.

I swear if we allow Bo to run against us I'm going to lose my shite.

Prepare to lose it. Hopefully he won't gash us like the other QB playing for a Miss team did, but he gets his yards against every other team I'm sure he will get his against us. We just need to prevent the big play. 4-8 yard scrambles/runs instead of him breaking 15-20 yards runs

The 41 pts we had was mostly due to special teams plus penalties,

First, Special Teams is one third of your squad, just as important as the other two.
Second, LSU rushed for more yards than USCe or UF against UK. That, along with ST and solid defense lead to the total team victory.
Agree that Jennings needs to step up for the Tigers to hang with OM or 'Bama.

I think Jennings could have a game like JJ did in 2010 against Bama. Manage the game and make a few key throws. I have a good feeling about Saturday.

I still have mental images of Bo out-running our entire secondary in 2012. And the scary thing is that this D is not as good as the one back in 2012.

I know. It was tough writing that. I'm trying to stay positive.

Actually he can get the job done, for what LSU needs to do. You are just getting bombarded with all the negatigers in here. This will be a good bump thread if LSU wins and if Jennings plays decent or well......I look forward to that because I really have a great feeling about this game.

The key to victory is to score atleast one more point than the other team.

You have to have a good qb and I just don't see us being to win this game with 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

I disagree. If we can win the LOS, which we do have the personnel to do if they play like they're capable of playing, we can beat them with decent QB play and protecting the football. We have 4 very capable, big running backs. If we can get into the second level we will wear them out. We also cannot afford to have Jennings hold onto the ball when he's in the pocket and kill drives with sacks. I'm not that afraid of Ole Miss' offense if we can play defense like we have lately. They do not have running backs like Auburn and State do. If we can control the clock and not turn the ball over, I think we have a very good shot at beating them without great QB play. This shouldn't be new to anyone. We've beaten teams better than Ole Miss with equally terrible QBs.

Does Memphis have a good QB? A little bit more talent and depth on defense (which I think LSU has by comparison), and they could have held Ole Miss to about 10 points.

we need to develop a short pass game

Watch how Bama unraveled us with their offence on 1-9

It seems to be a great formula for winning between 8-10 games a year but it will not beat the better more balanced teams. Thus the frustration by the fans.

Jennings couldn't get it done in one quarter against New Mexico State,. Now he's going against one of the best D's in the country

a - New Mexico State was a while ago, there have been quite a few practices since then
b - They won't be asking him to make those plays against Ole Miss

Assuming the defense and special teams have good games, It won't take a dynamic, creative performance to beat Ole Miss, just efficiency and limited mistakes.

Three out of four isn't good enough these days.

I've been wanting another national championship really badly since that fiasco in January 2012. While I didn't think this was the year, we should at least have another win. I think we would have worn down Mississippi St. had we kept them closer.

FFS, they are not one of the best D's in the country. They played Vanderbilt, which both Temple and Kentucky held to 7 points. They played Tennessee, which Florida held to 9 points. Are Temple, Kentucky, and Florida all among the best D's in the country too?

Holding Alabama to 17 was nice, but Arkansas held the Tide to 14. They might be good, but one of the best in the country?

Why? I think they are a horrible match up for us. We will have to throw because they will stack the box. They have 15 interceptions and the #1 defense. I think Miss at -3.5 is a great bet myself. Look for the spread to get up around 5 or 6 before it's over. I wish people on this site would have realistic expectations, buts that's just silly...

yes they are one of the best in the country. They've also forced 22 turnovers in 7 games. I also like that you discount Bama's offense improperly to suit your argument. Ole Miss absolutely has one of the best, if not the best, defenses in the country
