Will say again:

Cleveland Browns fired Bill Belichick 20 years ago.

They didn't think he could coach.

Making a statement that Coach O likely won't be an elite coach based on his history is actually very logical.

Except that is not what you said. My criticism was you saying that bc O is all grown up, therefore he can't become elite. That he is what he is. Do I need to repost your stupid quote?

3 out of his 4 years at LSU, Curly won as many SEC games as Orgeron won in 3 seasons combined. How many SEC games does Orgeron have to win in a row to equal Hallman's SEC winning %?

Of course not. Unless you are using that statement to imply that a person can't change. In that case-- you should rightfully be called an idiot.

. That statement is just plain dumb.

Yep, and Pete Carroll was a complete failure his first time out.

What's ignorant? I'm right. Orgeron has a much worse head coaching record than Curly Hallman had. That's a fact. And, it will take a whole lot of winning for him to prove himself better than Hallman.

Curly Hallman era really sucked. LSU was dead. Games weren't fun and nobody cared.

Orgeron's interim job this year was the polar opposite, there was excitement, it was fun watching LSU again.

I don't give a shite about what he did 10 years ago at Ole Miss. Orgeron brought back LSU's mojo this year and with the excellent DC and OC on board I am nothing but optimistic about the future.

Can't believe the anti-O crowd here is still at full tilt. Jimbo didn't want to come here, Herman didn't either, get over it. Take your negative shite over to the CC board, please.

Let's participate in an exercise of reality. Which of these winning percentages is the worst?

27-18-1 - 60%
22-21-2 - 51%
39-39 - 50%
59-76-1 - 44%
21-29 - 42%
10-25 - 29%

I'm optimistic about LSUs program, but I will ask:

Considering recruiting, coaching, player discipline, and overall program perception and management

Had Miles stayed, finished the season and hired Matt Canada as OC. Are we better off, the same or worse off?

Assume O is still DL coach and Peveto is still ST coach for the moment.

Better or Worse. Realistically.

I think we are better off because I saw improvement on the offense and a higher level of play throughout the 60 minutes of every game. Granted, I would not had seen that if Miles finished out the year.

Also, I have no reason to believe Miles would have hired Canada as the OC. His stubbornness was ultimately his downfall.

We will be far better off going into this next season, with new OC (Canada), DC (Aranda) returning, and new head coach "O"(regardless of his perceived weaknesses) than we were or would have been with Miles and Cameron at the helm. Even the "O" haters have to concede that....

I know this is hard for you to understand but we don't hate O. We simply believe that the the administration did not do all it could to place LSU in the best position to win championships. In O we see a career position coach with a losing record as a head coach being hired for a job that, on paper anyway, he is not qualified for. It is not difficult to come up with a list of head coaches with better resumes than O that we could have hired.

We hope O succeeds. The Canada hire is what the HC hire should have been --- a search for the best candidate. However, not one shred of evidence exists to suggest that O was the best LSU could do with a diligent coaching search.
