so what if we go 9-3, then beat OSU or Nebraska in the bowl game?

All the other seasons are over with and Sabans players have now gone through the system, hence the reason we are having troubles last year and somewhat this year.

you keep saying that, yet you give saban a pass for his last year.

Well that would make Ole Miss 8-3, and LSU at 8-3, with Ole Miss winning the head-to-head, so I can see why Ole Miss would be ahead of LSU.

Bowls don't pick teams based off of head-to-head or best records. They pick teams based off of who will bring the most money into town, and what kind of teleivision exposure will we get nationally. LSU is losing its national appeal by sleepwalking against weaker opponents. Remember when LSU went 10-1, then lost in the SEC Championship game and fell all the way to the Peach Bowl. That happened because the Cotton Bowl wanted Alabama and other Bowls didn't respect Les Miles.

That's only b/c Ole Miss destroyed TN last week, and LSU "struggled" against Tech. People are going with the perceived "hot" team.

Oh, and just b/c someone is paid to know sports, doesn't mean that they know sports.

Some guy posted this on another MB I frequent. I was in shock.

I was a sports writer for three years at the state's largest daily independent paper in Arkansas leading to a stint as a sports editor for a while at another paper before I returned to school and obtained my master's... and I had no idea that a backwards pass that hit the ground is still considered a "live" ball and in play...

he thinks LSU is the only team with this problem. Every other team shows up every week.

I could live with it, but LSU would finish about 14th in the country. Next year the preseason ranking won't be as high. And how the voters view you means everything. LSU won a national title in 2007 because the media thought they were good. The pollsters voted them #2 over many other 2 loss teams.

if we beat OSU by say 13-17 points, we would probably finsh 12th or so and could end up being ranked in the top 10 preseason. if we win 10 games, i'm very confident about the future of the program. if we go 8-4 in the regular season i will be very concerned.

Remember when Bobby Boucher showed up at halftime, and the MudDogs won the Bourbon Bowl, do you? Sound familiar, Bobby?

so true , he seem very unhappy in all of his post. i think people should wait and see how the season ends before they make any opinions about the future of the program. i'm fine with 9-3 or 10-2 (regular season) and i think we likley go to a bowl game against an average Big Ten team or an average Nebraska team. OSU would be a great game for LSU and I think beating them would really help us in the preseason next year.

50-13 asswipe...take your challenge and shove it up your arse. 50 out of 63 weeks Miles had LSU prepared to win...your challenge is as hollow as your head.

Last week there was talk that LSU was a lock to go to the Capital One Bowl if they just beat La Tech, and split the last two games

so LSU was a lock for the Capital One Bowl even though ESPN's Bowl Projections, your expert proof, didn't even have us as a unanimous projection for it?

has NOTHING to do with the fact that LSU's starting QB, RB, TE, and C are hurt and the fact that the game is at Ole Miss

we have only lost two games, 1 being to the #1 team in the country, the other was the #2 team in the country and it was on the road. in the La Tech game we were without key players. we beat the shite out of auburn, we played an average washington and uga team however both were on the road and both teams are capable of beating anyone at their house. i'll give you mississippi state, but other than that i think the teams have played fine. i will say i can't figure out the problems on offense and that does concern me against ole miss and even arky. but i will wait and see what happens at the end of the year before making an opinion. i don't understand why you can't do the same. not being a dick, but why is that?
