Working on technique and working on covering skills. 2 things that are necessary for a corner. There is a reason only this site is talking about his bench reps.

there is no doubt he is an unbeleivable talent...my comment stemmed from the op and how well he is doing off the field.

Like running a faster 40 then expected. Like having great technique on his drills? Thats work ethic. Nobody cares about bench.

so strength has nothing to do with playing football?

i could have the best technique in the world but if i am weak compared to the opposing player...no bueno

Well there you go. Many said if he runs 4.55 or better he moved up stock.

Bench =/= strength

Combination of alot of variable = strenth

Than most experts expected. He may not have put a lot of work into the bench but I think we proved his work ethic with the results he turned in at the combine yesterday.

Overall he improved his stock at the combine and his work ethic will be determined more through interviews than the bench press.

I don't think people under-value his skills. People are just a little apprehensive about his off-the-field issues.

Would love to see him slip to the Texans or Cowboys.

I can hit a golf ball 290+ and I am 5'9 160 lbs. I cant bench 160 lbs right now. There are techniques you can do to improve strength. And also, with any NFL team, if they want him to bench more, they will have him at 15-20 reps within a month.

exactly, but why isnt he already there? do you understand how little time each week he would have to put towards increasing his bench reps? VERY minimal relative to speed training and technique. he knew this was part of the combine way in advance.

i guess we just need to agree to disagree here

and there is also no opposing player going against you in golf...someone bigger faster and stronger with their own technique

Do you understand that could possible decrease his quickness and speed?

He's strong enough to rip the ball out isn't he?

He doesn't need to be able to bench 400 to be a good corner

At some point there is a diminishing return on increases in these weight lifting numbers

i do, but that is not a good sign if it decreases his speed significantly.

Bench press for db is overrated. The drills that I saw TM run showed that he has great change of direction, can locate the ball quickly. He has natural football instincts. His forty time was good, the only two issues that a NFL GM will have in regards to TM is his character and height. The best corner I saw was Millner

I think some are thinking he is a press corner. Not sure I ever seem him press.
