Perriloux was not dismissed until AFTER Spring practice - AFTER Miles had seen Lee and Hatch. Do you think that after he had become confident in the QB situation for this season he felt like he could release the headache?

Maybe things are better than they seem?

Actually, I think Miles had this planned out for some time. RP was never going to take a snap in Spring practice. But let's move on and realize we have three QB's that can cause problems for anyone on our schedule. Look no further than the players surrounding them.

We won two national championships with less than stellar quarterbacks, and we'll do it again, Flynn and Mauck made alot of clutch throws but defense and GREAT wide recievers won most of those games.

I don't think it was an accident that it went down as such. He had PLENTY of reason to get rid of him before.

BTW, I hear he's missing meetings at JS and has an "I'm the king" attitude but they're going to "Tolerate" it cause they need him.

Neither Mauck, nor Flynn, were "All World" quarterbacks. They were both great game managers. They did enough to win and let the defense set the tone of the game. If any of our present QBs can adopt the same mentality, this team will be in the thick of things. It's just that simple.

Game manager is a meaningless term. The term you're looking for is "mediocre quarterback". We may have won more games with a different QB, we may have lost more games with a different QB, but pretty much all we know for certain is that they played well enough to win national titles as starting quarterbacks.

Mauck and Flynn were far from being "mediocre". Mediocre quarterbacks don't have Championship rings on their fingers.

What, did someone steal Trent Dilfer's ring?

You are reaching here....the final cause of his dismissial was over failing a class. I think that might have played a larger role in timing after the spring game than being reassured at QB.

Mauck threw 4 tds to 9 ints against ranked teams in 2003, that is not managing the game. That is playing like crap.

Fixed it.

You are putting way too much thought into this.

Plus red-zone fumbles against UGA and OU.

Les kept RP around last year so he didn't have to burn Lee's redshirt as a back-up. First time he did something this year he was gone.

Les is a lot smarter then most of you give him credit for.

I have to disagree with this. I like your attitude that we can win another Championship with the quarterbacks that are on this year's roster, but Matt Flynn was a terrific quarterback! Yes, he made some mistakes against some very good teams, but he was a winner, he was clutch, and Matt Flynn was extremely accurate. There were plenty of good reasons for starting him ahead of Perilloux last year, and many Tiger fans still believe that he should have started ahead of JR in 2006.

LSU's offense racked up a boat-load of points last year, and, if they can even come close to that again this year, will be playing in the SEC Championship for a shot at another BCS Championship. All in MHO!!
