So the TP listed the top ten New Orleans football
players and left Alan Faneca off the list. He was born in New Orleans. Nine times Pro Bowler and nine times All Pro. Heres the list. Were they right? Only one LSU player and none in the last 50 years. Who else got dissed?
Marshall Faulk
Rich Jackson
Eli Manning
Peyton Manning
Richie Petitbon
Ed Reed
Neil Smith
Steve Van Buren finally an LSU player
Reggie Wayne
Aneas Williams

He was born in New Orleans.

I see nothing wrong with that list.

I only knew Petitbon as an NFL coach, and then vaguely remember him as that.

I don't know who Rich Jackson is. Petitbon played back in the 40s? 50s? Surprised John Fourcade isn't on the list. What about Steve Foley? (not sure he's from N.O., but he played at TooLame in the 70s and later for the Broncos.)

I don't know this guy either. But Faneca didn't go to high school in the nola area. pretty sure that was the requirement.

I guess Slidell isnt close enough to.consider Forte?

Petibon was a good coach but only 2 times All Pro
Faneca was 9 times All Pro...
And he attended John Curtis in River Ridge. Closer to the city than Ed Reed.

You're better than this Alan

When I think of ppl from New Orleans, Alan Faneca doesn't jump to mind, but if he went to Curtis, sure he should be on the list. Then again, who gives a rats' about what a weekly newspaper thinks? :rimshot:

Richie Petitbon is just a bone thrown to Tulane fans. While he was a really good player he really never achieved the same level of greatness of others on that list. Faneca >>> Petitbon.

u see how many future nfl hall of famer's on that list. It's pretty accurate really. Name me somebody that should be on the list then??

How anyone can abide by Ratphuc Hobley not being on this list is just unconscionable to me.
