If he starts off making $1M a year. I'll absolutely have an issue with Alleva.

He will recruit good players . I think you will feel better about this hire after spring drills.
Just give him a half of a chance.

So he shite the bed years ago....everyone has. Saban wouldn't have hired him back if the guy was total dogshit. Let's see what he can do after spending some valuable time under Saban's tutelage and with the caliber athletes that LSU has.

Welcome to LSU Coach Steele! The views expressed by posters along these Rant threads are not necessarily those of the majority of LSU fans.
Geaux out there and make us all proud, Coach!

This guy was having nervous breakdowns at Clemson when games got intense. He was also calling defensive plays to the clemson defense that the players had no idea what he was talking about. He had got confused and used his old teams play calls.

I'm just not sold nor am I happy about this decision.

Agreed..I used to work in the football office under Hallman and then Dinardo, left the year before Saban was hired. I miss seeing how the sausage is made.. we have had some great D coaches at LSU over the years..John Mitchell, Pete Jenkins, Carl Reese, but ahh, life goes on. Only time will tell with all hires, sometimes chemistry is just as important as talent...best of luck to our new coach..

I just want to make one post about Kevin Steele and be done with it. I do not think that Les, who is on thin ice of sorts, would hire a guy he thinks is going to fail. I expect Steele to snag a player or two late and I expect things will get a lot more positive about his hire after that and into the Spring. We will all know by mid October what just happened and whether he was a good hire or not. I choose to be optimistic, because humility tells me I do not have all the facts and this is above my pay grade anyhow. For all we know, it could turn out to be a great hire, a lousy hire, and anything in between. Until I see otherwise, I'll just say it's a great hire, be optimistic, and hope it works out. Go Coach Steele and Geaux Tigers!
