I thought baseball took a rest last year?

I remember preseason expectations and I remember thinking..............these people are full of shite

Maybe it's semantics but just because recruiting rankings and other things on paper show that we should be more talented than anyone the eye test clearly shows that is far from the truth. We can make excuse after excuse but with consistently losing to terrible teams I'm very comfortable saying this team isn't even in the top half of the teams Mainieri has coached at LSU.

Please tell me who is the most talented right now during this season. I'm sure the talent is there and for some reason they just can't play together. There are no sec leaders in important and strong statistics.

So many of these talented players in the preseason are completely under achieving.

Seriously, who makes all American? First team sec? Just admit it, this team has extremely underachieved. The losses are straight up embarrassing and we're lucky to have a few wins that were extremely close.

I thought this team would be great and was hoping it was a slow start and they would gell later in the season.

I may end up being wrong but right now I'm not impressed. Hitting is terrible, batting average stinks. Slg% under.400. Middle of pack in hits. Bottom of the barrel in strike outs. Defense is decent but far from the best. Total Era is terrible. We give up a ton of walks. Teams steal at will against us.

I'm posting the official stats and lsu is nowhere near the top in almost all of the important stats. It's time to call them out and quit saying they are good based on preseason rankings. Maybe it will motivate them to see this.

I'd love to hear an argument of why we are good right now, not hopefully in the future. And I promise I'm a huge homer but this team just doesn't have it, maybe it can get hot at the end but there has to be major changes somewhere and I know the injury bug has hit us hard but you can't use that as an excuse, that's why you recruit deep and have players to plug and play.

This is frustrating to even type out because I truly believed we would get it going and forget about the slow start but I have a feeling that will not be the case.

Hosting a regional would be a hell of an accomplishment. Don’t see national seed at this point at all.
