I guess maybe Loyola but I don't really count them anymore. $50K for the education Tulane provides is just insane.

Yeah, I can see your intent was not to " belittle either school".

You call them points
Well, you sure have accumulated a lot of points since you joined. I commend you on that accomplishment

There are many inferior private universities that are just as expensive. And how do you know anything about the quality of education at a university you've never attended?

I should rephrase what I said. Any BASIC science degree at LSU...chemistry, biology, physics

The finance, economics, business genre would easily go to Tulane.

I studied a basic science and our research facilities and money were >>> what Tulane had.

Because I know people that went to Tulane and I know that they didn't have access to anything different/better than I had access to at LSU. Not to mention just the shear price of it all. Do you realize that Tulane is priced evenly with Yale and a little more expensive than Harvard? That's just insane.

I'd have to go with Loyola there regarding what you get for the money for sure

Here is another side of this...I was told this by a higher up at Southeastern years back.

When the schools changed their names to ULL and ULM, Southeastern was also asked if they wanted to be ULH. All three universities are in the state school system. SLU chose to remain SLU, or Southeastern, to try to keep some type of character or name brand. They did not want to become just another UL? university. Also, there were concerns that one of the schools might try to brand themselves UL and the others fall behind. This is not the same, but similar to UC-Berkley and the other UC's in the system(granted everyone knows UCLA). Needless to say, when ULL calls themselves UL, there are hard feelings at other schools in the state...not just LSU. They are promoting themselves to be something they are not.

not really. it's just some Tulane fan trying to make his nerd interjection and performing random spellchecks on people's posts.

Well, I went to Tulane's business school and I know that we had access to many things that students at most other universities didn't. Not that any of it would justify a $50k price tag, but as I mentioned earlier no one is actually charged that other than wealthy kids

no surprise there. they are just another directional louisiana university. DLU has a nice ring to it

eh...maybe from a rankings standpoint but in reality I don't see a huge difference in the quality of graduates...My Dad is a VP at Capital One and tells me that the LSU MBA grads typically work harder and make better employees than Tulane MBA grads who seem to have the "entitlement attitude" (as if they're owed something for their 'superior' education). I got hired over some Tulane terd FWIW...Tulane is what it is nationally but in the south I don't think their B-school kids are doing that great compared to LSU kids

And LSU has things in engineering that Tulane will never have. Fwiw, I know Tulane's MBA >>>> LSU's MBA program.

There's A LOT of Tulane grads in the city of New Orleans fwiw. There are places down there that you wouldn't even get a phone call from if you didn't go to Jesuit & Tulane.

Believe me, I'm not trying to argue against that because I know its true. Just trying to say that an LSU degree is competitive here. Of course, its a small town and who you know is a big deal regardless
