There's no reason LSU shouldn't claim it if the NCAA claims it. How much more official are we waiting for it to become?

I thought LSU had already claimed that, at least some Tiger fans and alumni.

The Heisman Trust also retroactively named Fenton the Heisman winner for that year...We should acknowledge that as well.
At the time, LSU was scrutinized for having professional players on the team, but that was ultimately a charge that was unfounded.

Its as good as any "claim" back in that time. There was no AP or Coaches polls, or BCS or anything official. No can say it all you want, but whoever the NCAA recognizes at the time is just as official as ANYTHING else. Sorry if that makes you sad.
