you keep leaving McMullen out.

I do, outfield depth will definitely be a strength for us this year unlike last year. You almost think Mainieri has to move Rhymes back to DH if any of these guy progress like they are supposed to.

It's a good problem to have though. February can't get here fast enough

If Rhymes could develop a little pop, then Mainieri would probably be more comfortable moving him back to DH.

My thought is that Coach will let him play a position in order to increase his draft stock--like moving Dean to 1B. I don't see Rhymes as a MLB prospect, but Coach will give him every opportunity he can. Assuming we could get some hitting out of the new guys, I would have Rhymes at DH if I was coach. I would think about putting Jones back in the OF too, but that is not going to happen.

Having these discussions again is great. We have so much new talent.

are you talking strictly about his MLB prospects? Because I don't see any reason to move someone to the outfield with the guys we have coming in. From what I have seen, JaCoby is very good defensively at second, it's his inability to hit a breaking ball that irks me.

I really want a speedy, athletic outfield this year.
I do, too, KJ, but I think we may see Alex Edward in the outfield to start the season. PM strongly believes in giving four-year seniors a chance, especially local products.

Moore, Katz, Rhymes, Edwards

With the talent leap we got coming in, I can't see Edward as anything more than a weekday starter/pinch hitter.

The fact that there is no safe spot for Moore right now is a true testament to how talented this team is.

When you have to cut Powell and Jackson, you know you have a lot of talent.

Is that what happened to the McClure kid?

Who closes with Goody gone?

Some have said Cotton, but I would much rather him pitch 2 or 3 innings in relief to get to the closer.

But you bet your arse he'll be all over the team next year if they are as good as expected. I hate our basketball fan base. Like I said earlier, best LSU athletics days for me are the basketball/baseball double header days

How'd he look in the fall?

The guy has always had the tools but he has also been a bit of a headcase on the mound.
