re: Tim fletcher is a goon

He's dreadful, I hate watching the sports when up i'm there for work.

Tim is a good dude, and I can vouch for his sports IQ. He sometimes gets a little goofy on his show, but hey, it is HIS show, and people can choose to listen or not to listen. And I'll tell you for sure the guy is no idiot.

I'll say this about Tim, and I would say it to his face - in my opinion he got a little too close to the BH situation, and some things got a little too personal. Since things have changed, I'm pretty sure he would acknowledge (at least privately) that given what was going on, a change was needed, both with the QB situation and the LM situation. Though I will qualify this post by saying that I could be out of line by presuming what he thinks or would say.

He is able to get some good guests on an occasional and recurring basis, and he genuinely cares about sports in NW LA. I am pretty sure he would tell you he is an Arkansas fan first, but he is a genuine LSU supporter, though he is not afraid to speak up and not toe the party line if he has a differing opinion on what's happening down there. I'm LSU to the core, not just a casual fan, but invested in the system, from being a fan growing up, to a student, to a parent who has paid tuition there, but I respect the right to criticize the program, and am glad to have journalists that will do the same.

I'm not a caller on his show, but I listen when I can, and I do talk sports with him outside of the show. I didn't hear his comments on where the LSU job rates, but I have a feeling he was speaking purely in terms of where salary is right now, not the actual prestige of the job.

I knew he was a goon when he joined KTBS back when I was in high school, and he did the live remote from the games....

Fletch has unfairly reported on Calvary ever since we beat evangel back in '07 so don't give me that load of shite.

You have lost your mind if you don't think Lsu is a top 10 job however it's clear you didn't fully read my post. He based the top jobs on who gets paid the most not prestidge or recruiting or location or who the ad is.

If you based how good a job is on pay alone then Notre Dame would be 65th in the country since Brian Kelly isn't even making 2 mil a year.

It's clear you like fletch and yes he does have his semi funny moments but don't pretend like what I said wasn't true.

He is a great dude though. I like his show. Some of the callers are awful which makes for great radio. Billy dropping Ohhh-kaaaay every other word. Silver and Black calling in from the dungeon. Overall, his show is not perfect and he's not real knowledgeable about national sports but for local stuff it's not bad.

Fletcher has single handily done more for high school sports in 1 town that probably anyone. Like him or not, there's no disputing that.
