Not to mention living in Nashville kicks the shite out of living in Baton Rouge.

Jim Schlossnagle
He’s paid well at TCU but offer him a significant raise and make him say no.
He’s 50 now and in a few years would have about 15-20 years to coach here. Recruits and coaches pitching well which is still most important at the CWS.

He's been courted by both State and Texas recently and turned both down. He's also been at TCU close to 20 years now. Not sure he's interested in moving. He had them in Omaha 4 straight seasons. TCU is also a private school like Vandy with some natural recruiting/scholarship advantages

He's the highest paid college baseball coach in the country. His salary numbers were finally released now that he is up towards the top paid employees at Vandy (those are included in the public record filings). He makes well over $2 million a year and has created a juggernaut program. He has absolutely no reason to ever leave there and won't.
I didn't say he had a reason or that he would leave. I just said "unless" he is hurting for money that they can't give him. But if he IS the highest paid coach, then obviously he won't be going anywhere.
One disagreement I have is that "he" has built a juggernaut. I would argue the NCAA created that with their uneven enforcement of recruiting rules. I don't care if Vanderbilt falls under a different category with academics: They should nevertheless be under the same rules and limitations when it comes to athletics. It makes no sense.

I mean sure, it definitely is an advantage, but lets also not act like a bunch of private schools are out here winning titles in addition to Vandy.
You have to give Corbin some credit.

People said the same thing about Pawl and ND. I don’t know if either would be a good fit, but they’re more realistic than Tim Corbin

Other private schools are not in the SEC making huge profits off of shared revenue from all the other league schools they leech off of. That's why when you go to Harvard or Princeton for a baseball game, it looks like a high school field. They don't put big money into big sports. Makes it pretty easy for Vandy to get whatever they want.
I'm not saying Corbin isn't a good coach. But I think he'd be sort of another Mike Bianco, if he didn't have these advantages. Bianco's run a good program, but no one would call it a juggernaut.

Why was your comp Ivy League schools?
That's just stupid.
Jim Schlossnagle is regarded as a top 10 current coach. He's at a private school and hasn't even made a CWS final.

Because the Ivy League is the private school haven. But they aren't the SEC and don't make the kind of money off of athletics that the SEC does.
TCU has had a lot of success. They haven't won a title yet, I realize. What do you suppose could be hampering them?
I'll go ahead and say it for you: Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech, Rice, Houston.
Lot's of schools to compete with. Poor Vanderbilt, having to compete with Baseball juggernauts, Tennessee and Memphis.
You also must have missed the part where I said that I wasn't suggesting Corbin wasn't a good coach, only that he'd be a Mike Bianco without the advantages. Mike hasn't won a championship, but he's had success. Schlossnagle is a good coach in the middle of a baseball factory.
But even the things I've just said are only part of the story. Not every private school has the same advantages. There are other financial logistics that play into it, and it's rather confusing to sift through the BS.
LSU always recruits top talent, but rarely hangs on to the upper echelon guys. Vandy can, because they can supplement their players' costs. And they don't really have to compete with anyone in their area. Those aren't small facts.

You're an idiot if you think those are the only schools Vandy is competing against in recruiting.

Yep, you totally have lost the point of the argument.
Congrats on dying on that in-state hill I guess.
