Since there is no chance that CPM will retire anytime soon, this talk is baseless speculation.

I think this would be a homerun if they could get this guy down here to BR.
he wouldn't have the same advantages here as he does in vandy. Hed never leave.

Corbin is a great coach and would be a great hire but look at Corbin’s overall postseason history at Vandy. According to LSU fans he would be a failure.

Tony Vitello should be the guy hired if they part ways with CPM. He is the next great coach in the sport.

Would be even better if he hired Cannizzaro as an assistant

Lol definitely. For a minute there I thought he was the coach of Fisher High Schools baseball team.

For LSU, imo, yes but the point is moot until paul retires

How successful was he in his head coaching stop that didn't have unlimited scholarships?

He took over Presbyterian College when they were not only restarting their program after not having one for several years but also transitioning from NAIA to DII. By year 3 he was their conference COY and had them in their tournament for three straight years before going to Clemson to be an assistant under Leggett. The guy can coach regardless of the advantages he may have. Vandy isn't the only private university with these advantages and they were a complete doormat before he got there

Unless he's really hurting for money that Vanderbilt can't give him.

He's the highest paid college baseball coach in the country. His salary numbers were finally released now that he is up towards the top paid employees at Vandy (those are included in the public record filings). He makes well over $2 million a year and has created a juggernaut program. He has absolutely no reason to ever leave there and won't.

Eric Bakich is the guy we need to go all in for whenever PM retires

Also, Corbin has the cushiest job in all of college sports:

- Unlimited schollies
- Private school money
- Little expectations because he's won 2 titles at an institution that doesn't give a shite about athletics.

He's never leaving.

Exactly. Leaving vandy for LSU is a downgrade
