One of the few things that I believe out of Lou Holtz' mouth.....Paraphrased:
It could have been that AU picked a bad day to have a bad day, and we played very well.

What happened with O'L PISS? If we beat anyone u would think Les would try to beat them. Maybe he still doesn't know how old that Rivalry is.

Auburn had some luck against Ga. and Ala. or they would have 3 losses.
Coaching has a lot to do with it. Auburn never got out of their game plan against Ala. and LSU did - the Tigers simply quit running the football and became 1 dimensional.
The fact is the Auburn QB ran their offense better and better as season went on and their offensive line is tremendous. The BCS title game will be fun to watch this season. Geaux Tigers!

Who's to say it was coaching that lost the Ole Miss game? Do coaches tackle? Do coaches blow assignments in pass coverage? Do coaches throw into double coverage?
LSU fans are always quick to blame the coaches for a loss because they view the players as their heroes and saints. Bottom line on the Ole Miss game: defense played like shite, and too many turnovers.
The premise of this whole thread is fantasy. Give it a rest.

Defense played like shite all year!

Auburn isn't any better than they were when they lost to LSU. Tip for a last second touchdown, runback of a missed field goal for a touchdown? Those are less than coin toss wins; they are flat out lucky. They still have no defense. Florida State should be heavily favored.

but you're miserable, so you ignore those games

Besides where are Obama's three losses this year? Pretty sure he's 2-0 in the big game.

Well Malzahn was only away for a year and Auburn was still running his system so not sure why people r saying Aub had to buy into Gus' system.
How well did AU do the year Malzahn was gone? He had to come in and convince these players the system would work.

Coaching
Only an idiot or a troll could look at our three L's and come up with coaching as the main reason for them.

No he didn't. His system worked and they won a NC. Then he left and they tried to bring in a pro-style offense which was an absolute disaster. What more convincing would they need?

They got the extremely flukey play against Georgia that is a once in a program play.
Agreed........

Then the last second play against Bama.
Beating Bama had nothing to do with luck. They took advantadge of A HUGE Bama mistake....

LSU had the opposite of lucky breaks against Ole Miss and UGA
Ole Miss and UGA beating LSU had NOTHING to do with luck. They BOTH outplayed LSU.
And if they played tomorrow[even with mett] AU would smoke LSU.

But how many players from that NC team were still on the roster? AU won 3 games in 2012. The other poster said they were still running Gus' offense during that horrible season. Its not unreasonable to think those returning players had doubts about the system.
Not an argument just an attempt to understand a players mind set.
Edit to say: I don't watch AU football. I was going on the poster's contention Malzahn's offense was used in 2012.

Who was it that said after the ole miss loss that he didn't have his players coached up?

I remember the same argument from DiNardo supporters.

I think Malzahn was still trying to find their offensive identity against us. They threw the ball 33 times against us when clearly that isn't what they do best.
Credit LSU though for jumping out to a nice lead and taking them out of their initial gameplan.
