Hey Guys,

Wife and I just moved to Minneapolis from Louisiana. Both LSU grads in 2008 as well as Tiger Band alums.

Any alumni living in Minneapolis/Twin Cities area getting together to watch the game? Is there a dedicated bar/restaurant people gather at to watch the game similar to what the Boston alumni group does?

Some people here might have good/better answers, but in case you don't get much, this is from the LSU alumni association website. Might be of some help.

We do have some Alumni here in Minnesota. I attended crawfish boils and football game watch parties in 2009 and 2010. Im not sure what happened with the leaders of the group but leadership changed in 2011 and the group has not met since.

I contacted Deb Venker and she stated she was looking for someone to restart the group. I would be willing to help if there is any interest. I would travel from Duluth when we had previous events. It was fun being around other LSU fans in Minnesota and the crawfish boils had good turnouts.

Hope you're making the drive over to Lamboux field. Plenty of tickets available, especially after the flood down here.

Wasn't planning on going to te game. Not sure how much people are reselling their tickets for and unsure about hotel availability/cost in the area?

Do you find the people here as close minded and unfriendly as we've experienced?!

It's the north, isn't everyone unfriendly, rude, pale, and the women are ugly?

This is a frighteningly accurate assessment of the North...

I'm an LSU alumni in Minneapolis. I grew up here, but moved to Louisiana for a while and am now back. Not surprised to hear about your experience. People here are very subdued and cold for the most part, but there are some good folks. Check out the state fair before it's over. I'd be down to meet up and watch a game if you're interested. Don't have any fellow LSU fans here yet

Stands to reason. Why would you live up there and deal with that deathly cold weather? Unless you're making 100k and the only way you can make 100k is to live up there, either you are of less intelligence or not attractive.

However, Carmen Electra reigns from Sharonville, Ohio, and she is smoking hot, so exceptions can be made.

Wife got a job at UMinn in their athletic department as the tutorial coordinator so that's why we moved....

Thanks for the downvote.

Even if she isn't making 100k, that's a great position with a lot of potential. Kudos.

Clicked the wrong button by accident, haha, MY BAD!

It is a great position, that'll hopefully get her to LSU! :D

Good luck to her!!!

Question: Why wouldn't you try to go the LSU game in GB? It's super close to you.

The winters suck, but the summers are 100x better thank Louisiana's. Plus you actually get 4 seasons. There are ups and downs of living anywhere.

True, the summer has been enjoyable from a weather standpoint!

Hotel cost is outrageous in and around Lambeau when I just looked. Even though tickets are reasonbly cheap right now (~$100), hotel cost makes it extremely prohibitive.

Absolutely! Been in MSP for 3 years and you can't beat highs in the 70s in August. Crazy thing is it being in the 50s when I get up in the mornings. Already starting to turn cold.

We're staying in Neenah, WI. Look at locations outside of GB and you can get a hotel for ~$200-250/night
