Aranda is worth every fricking penny. Really hope we keep him.

And Southern Miss will be another good test

They are Top 10 in the country in Total offense. Top 25 in scoring offense. Really good QB

Wasn't Missouri that too? Really depends on your level of competition

Aranda likes to play man to man. I think we'll see a lot more of that here on out. Miles liked his DCs to play more zone.

pump the brakes grasshoppers. have we really faced any prolific offenses yet??? i'm not talking about offenses who put up huge numbers against the eastern michigan's of the world. let's wait until we face ole miss, alabama and arkansas. and please don't say auburn because they were a train wreck when we played them and they still may be. having said that, i do think we have a heck of a D!

If we had gotten a chance to play Florida, the title of this thread would be:

Mullens is legit. It may not matter if his receivers can't get open and Arden Key is in his face the whole game, but he's probably the best QB we've faced so far this season.

We have seen some good offenses and I think it is a good enough barometer to know that we are good. I like that we have seen multiple schemes and done well against them.

We face a good offense this weekend.

Southern Miss #7 total offense nationally (#35 rush; #16 pass)

Missouri is #15 total offense nationally (#82 rush; #8 pass)
Auburn is #28 (#10 rush; #82 pass)
Wisconsin is #106 (#78 rush; #97 pass)
Miss St is #74 (#47 rush; #90 pass)

*edit to add:
FCS
J'ville St is #7 nationally 482.6 yds/gm (#13 rush; #47 pass)

Ole Miss #23 total (#83 rush; #13 pass)
Alabama #24 total (#20 rush; #47 pass)
Arky #41 total (#64 rush; #37 pass)
A&M #6 total (#8 rush; #42 pass)

I mean that's cool and all but what does that have to do with LSU?

If you count just games against power 5 teams we jump up to 9th in total defense.
