I almost got thrown out of the student section last season for standing. Some of my friends and I found some seat really low in the bowl, so we went and got them. Well, apparently, the nerds that show up and grab a seat like 3 hours before the game are losers cause they reported us to the cops. And when I told the student how big of a douche he was for having a cop request that we sit down, the cop wasn't too happy.

I am not one of those people that stands the whole time, I just find it bogus that someone can come and tell you to sitdown at a football game.

You're a douche!!

thank you

Yea, right. You just tell the deputy that you are going to stand. I will laugh my arse off as they throw your punk arse out of the stadium.

What do ya'll think now that this is an official LSU policy?

Exhibit A in demonstrating how annual revenue growth is a short-sighted goal for such a long-standing tradition as LSU football.

Some old man sitting behind me just might get popped in the jaw if he tries calling the marshals on me.

Luckily I have become close friends with neighbors in my section near me... we are all on the same page and never have anybody bitchin b/c we are usually all standing. I stand 90 percent of the time so it works out. I only sit during timeouts and some of halftime... I sit much more during the crappy opponents/blow outs.

I would never sit on the sidelines with all those old farts just b/c of this policy.

No, you're just being a fan.

Gotta admit, that "standing the entire game" is one thing those Texas Aggies got right about fandom (that and making out w/ your girl after each score is nice, too).

I've watched games for years in which you sit for a stretch (during slow plays, time outs, etc.) and you stand for a stretch (a critical drive late in the game).

Never, ever had a problem w/ others standing in front/next to/behind me.

Baffles me as to why anyone else would.

I know some people down low on both sidelines are forced to stand the entire game just to be able the see, which forces about the first 6 to 8 rows to stand to see over them, what are they going to do kick all of them of the stadium. A really waste of time and paper to place a policy like this in place

I don't see where the problem is...

Sit down during timeouts, halftime, etc

When shite is going down on the field, I'll be on my feet. That's how I started watching these games and damned if I'll stop for some university policy.

I THINK ALL THE FANS WHO LIKE TO JUST SIT AND NOT SCREAM HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO . BUT THEY SHOULD BE IN THE UPPER EAST AND WEST DOING IT. THAT WAY WE CAN STAND AND BE REAL LOUD AND WE WONT GET ON ANYBODIES NERVES OR STAND IN ANYONES WAY

My philosophy on the sitting/standing issue is pretty simple. I pretty much want to stand when we're on defense. I'll sit during the huddle, etc., but when the ball is about to be snapped, I want to stand. On offense, unless it's a crucial play, I will only stand when something exciting happens. I think that's pretty reasonable. Also, if the people in front of me stand I will stand. So, if during any of these times someone asks me to sit, I will probably have a problem with it, because I think I am being very reasonable.

On a different note, imagine this: it's the 4th quarter, LSU is up by 4, Auburn is on our 2 yard line, and it's 4th down. QB squats to receive the snap. I guarantee you, without a shadow of a doubt, that SOMEWHERE in TS, someone is telling the person in front of them to sit down. This is unacceptable, and that person deserves to be struck about the head area.

That's all I'm saying.

I agree people should be considerate, but people need to realize that when you go to a football game, people will be standing and may stand the whole time.

No reason to stand the whole time and that is what this is talking about. Common courtesy.

Might be the single dumbest thing I have ever read on this board. If you like that theory so much, wear a blindfold to the next game. Wow.

And to clarify, I am 25 (not old) and have been to almost every home game since I was 3 (not a "bandwagon" fan like people on here are trying to pass this off as). If you aren't standing by yourself in the middle of the section on 2nd and 8 when the Tigers have the ball on their own 22 with 13 minutes left in the 2nd quarter with those around you asking you to sit yet you refuse to, then this policy should not and will not affect you.

A. why would anyone do that?

B. does your ticket have anywhere written on it "a clear view of the game" or does it just have your seat number on it?

I hope you're joking.

If not, then I hope that the next concert you go to see of your favorite band, some jackass sits next to you and unloads an airhorn in your ear for 4 straight hours because nowhere on your ticket did it guarantee that you should hear the band.

Great point. It is also not written on your ticket that you have the right to block another's view of the game. There are a lot of things not written on that ticket.
