You answered your own question. Tiger Stadium isn't at full capacity but maybe twice a year as it is now. What would lead you to believe that we would consistently get more than 100K in the stadium on a regular basis?

TAF has priced out the middle class fan. With more affordable ticket pricing, a more dedicated fan base might show up and stay for the games.

It is cheaper for me to take my wife to Mexico for a week than a weekend trip to an LSU game.

And TAF is not going to charge a fee for the new GA seats? Middle class season ticket holder maybe but on an individual game basis it doesn't effect you as a consumer. You can still buy tickets for face on the marketplace which I know has a 25% markup charge and face value is now higher $70 a game, but that has little to do with TAF. Tickets can still also be bought on gameday will minimal effort. To your initial point I don't see how you can blame the university for not wanting to lose money. I don't believe that there are another 10K fans dieing to sit in another upper deck rather than watch it on TV. Remember we are discussing an addition after the current one.

Edit: Your answer also had nothing to do with your original post which was how LSU limited itself with no more expansion options.

I that the GA seating that's above the "welcome to Death Valley sign". That whole top part?

you can definitely see some differences. The new pic definitely looks like it has more seating IMO.

I think those will be the new visitor seats. LSU is moving most of the visitors out of the lower bowl and into the new endzone upper deck.

LSU has essentially capped it's capacity in the stadium with this construction
i think i'm done wanting quantity. I would like to see lsu renovate the lower bowl concourses/restrooms/vendors and make tiger stadium a nicer, more fan friendly experience. otherwise, people are going to continue to stay at home.

it wouldn't hurt to follow skip's model with the box and add kid friendly areas or adult lounges like at jerrahworld. the fan experience is deteriorating rapidly.

Yup, we're lucky we aren't building any worse into a downturn than we already may be doing. There just isn't demand for over 100k seats with HD TV out there. Re do what we have to entice people to come.

Anyone else frustrated with the design of this?

Maybe the flat wall will hold the sound inside the stadium better than the slanted seating would?

Also, maybe the additional noise from the fans in the slanted seating would not really add much to the acoustics from way up there and off to the side?

I really don't know why that popped into my head but it is a thought. I would rather the stadium hold the noise in better and still make it over 100,000 admission over adding a few thousand more people just to have the capacity. As long as the Valley is in the six digit range, recruits will see it as pretty much equal to another stadium with 5000 more fans but not quite the impressive reputation.

The fact that they are putting high dollar spots off to the side is what makes me scratch my head. I'll pay for a club house ticket near the fifty but I rather be in the thick of it all when I'm to sitting in the end zone so that I can shred some vocal chords and feel like I am a part of the experience just a little.

people are going to continue to stay at home as long as every game is on TV, and that isn't ever going to change in the foreseeable future. this is not just an LSU problem
