Former Tiger Mickey Mangham. He passed last September. I can't believe it's already been a year.

My Dad and my Mom. Both were huge fans. One of my favorite stories was they were at the LSU - Ole Piss Halloween game and my mom was pregnant, hot, tired and conviced my Dad to leave before the end of the game. Needless to say as they were walking to the car they heard the crowd roar and my Dad just took off running to the car to listen on the radio - so he missed Billy Cannon's run - he never let my Mom forget that one and it was always a good LSU family story to tell
awesome story

My dad, missed the 03 and 07 championships as well as the Saints Super bowl win. Had LSU tickets since '56 and Saints tickets from day 1, the Saints honored original ticket holders in 2001 and he got to go on the field before a game.

My dad.
He bought season tickets in 1955 a couple years after the south endzone was built. He sat through them all with me except when he stayed at the house and let my mom drive me up. He said we would get blown out in 1997 when we played Florida and watched it on TV. I still sit in that same seat today.
He passed on just after the terrible season of 1998. He died before Tiger football really turned around.
I miss him terribly. He wasn't the greatest husband, but he loved me to pieces. And he loved his Tigers. I still shed a tear during the alma mater before every home game as we always sang it together.
Daddy, help us bring one home.

My mom and my father-in-law. Both were huge LSU fans, and both are deeply missed.

Lots of good stories and love in this thread...I have enjoyed reading them. It really helps to know that I am not "alone" when it comes to losing a loved one who loved the Tigers so much!

Goat, damnit, you made tears well up in my eyes. I'm sure your dad is with you -- at every game and every day.

Paul Parsons. R.I.P.
When i was in college, he drove us all night on the way to Lexington for the Kentucky game. We waited until he was ready to switch drivers to tell him that none of us could drive a standard. LOL
A great guy and huge LSU fan. Tiger Stadium is not the same without him.

I've been thinking about him all week - how he would loved the 03 and 07 seasons and how he would be talking to me every night about the game for the last week and a half.
I ain't goin' lie, I'll shed some tears come Saturday.

My Dad, who passed unexpectedly in May of this year.
He was a HUGE Tiger fan, and loved the Tigers like no one else I know. We talked before every game and analyzed all the match-ups, and then again after every game win or lose to either whoop with joy or agonize over the loss. I miss those conversations more than I ever knew I would..... But I know he's watching from the best seats in the house.
Love and miss you Dad.

I'm with you, bro. Me and Dad would take turns calling each other after every LSU score. Him in the Chuck, me in Colorado. The man took me to my first game in TS, 1962.
May the Tigers put on a show for all of our departed loved ones....

All the Tiger fans will be together and watching. The only problem is they may already know the outcome.

I lost both my mom and my dad last year. I have been thinking about them all season, because it has seemed like this is setting up to be such a special year and I feel like they are looking down and cheering for the Tigers.
One funny thing---in the days before smartphones, if I would be traveling and away from a TV or radio, I would call my elderly Dad to see if LSU was winning and what the score was. To tease me, he would always tell me they were losing and make up a fictitious score. I would have to say "Put Momma on the phone" because she was a devout Baptist who couldn't tell a lie, if only for a minute. She would immediately tell me what the real score was and we would always have a good laugh about it.
Here's to Herman and Sunshine and any heavenly help they can send the Tigers' way on Saturday!
