a rising tide lifts all boats. A strong SEC record helps LSU in the polls when it needs it. Oh yeah, that only applies if you hate Obama.

ND is #5 in rush yd/g at 93. UGA was avg 177.7/ game. Huge difference.

LOL now we gotta call the sportswriters to get a game with ND.

Not sure how a team we never play is a greater threat to us than a team in our own division. Maybe you can explain it to me? I'm dumb.

Your opinion is wrong. How many times has Notre Dame cost us a Title? We win one last year if not for Bama. We're likely playing in one this year if not for Bama. Did you see their RB go for nearly 200 yards and 2 TDs yesterday? He went to high school about a 5-iron away from LSU's campus.

They don't get it Phi. Don't you understand? The media will vote them right past us!! Every year!! And then they will come down here and steal all our Catholic boys and build a football dynasty with all the AP sportswriters behind them!!

Your gonna get a game every year with bama. Best them and your in, assuming no one is in front of us.

Lose a game and have to pass the eyeball test with Notre Dame in the running. See how that works out for ya.

It is likely, based upon past experience, that LSU will often have 1 loss, but may skid in sideways (see recent history as well as Bama last year). With Notre Dame in the picture no one will jump them per the media bias.

You just have to be old enough to have experienced this type of situation. It is stating the obvious we have to get by Bama most years!

Nonsense. We didn't need it in 2003 and were ranked #2. The fact an SEC team won in 2003 did not help Auburn in 2004. Florida did just fine in 2006 with the benefit of a long line of consecutive SEC titles and Florida beating OSU in 2006 was not why LSU started 2007 #2.

Last year however, the perception of the SEC screwed LSU. Bama got in because of the strength of the SEC even though they only best 3 teams with a winning record.

Sorry pops, the 60's 70's are over. You can't relive your youth by rooting against ND, but you can root against your team's better interest by pulling for Alabama.

Sure the MEDIA loves them. They have a huge and rich tradition. I don't see WHY the Hate from LSU fans toward ND. DO LSU FANS need some hugs and kisses???? FACT. ND is 12-0 and LSU is NOT. I don't care who they played. LSU had chances in BOTH losses and DIDN'T get the job done. ANYONE who lets their life get screwed up by what the MEDIA thinks is an IDIOT. FACT.

And they finished 3rd to last in the SEC in rushing while only playing 3 of the top 7 rush teams in the SEC. They did hold Vandy and Florida below their avg, Vandy they were killing. They also let Kentucky, Tennessee and USCe rush for over 200 yds, well above their avg

OK. Thats a KILLER lineup of teams you just presented.

LOOK. Bama played a so-called soft schedule but BLEW EVERYONE out except UGA LSU and A & M. ND can't say this. YES ND went and beat OU, And needed the refs help to beat Stanford. PLUS 3 OT'S to beat PITT[AT HOME] Come on man. Bama will ROLL ND.

Respectfully disagree.

Every 1-loss SEC team was ranked ahead of every other team except undefeated ND. And even the most ardent ND pumpers in the media had to admit that if ND lost their last game, they would drop below Bama/UGA/Fla. And all would have one loss.

So the media love affair would have gotten them nothing.

Any Tiger fan as old as myself HATES NOTRE DAME even more than we hate Alabama.

I would hate Notre Dame even if the refs hadn't screwed us over in that 3-0 game and even if they hadn't screwed us out of the Cotton Bowl in 1969. They were always a privileged bunch that didn't have to play by the same rules as everybody else.

Yep. For me the prospect of either winning makes me ill. The way last night's SEC-CG was officiated over to Bama is sickening. UGa was just hosed. Honestly at this stage I couldn't care less which of them wins the NCG. Don't know that I've been this disinterested in a NCG in my life. I doubt I'll even watch.

I didn't see this. What did I miss???? There was offsides on the blocked punt return FOR UGA. The Dawgs had a chance and blew it. The TIDE ran for over 350 yds. The refs helped them with this????

That was the only penalty on Bama until 12 minutes in the 4th quarter. The late hit on Dial was blatant, he SHOULD be suspended for the next game. He would be severely fined in the NFL. But, no, the lack of calls did not cost UGA, still 1 penalty in over 3 quarters. No holding calls ever

I will give Bama this. They are a well oiled machine. The O-LINE has done a GREAT job not just at the line of scrimmage, but downfield as well. BUT YES they should be called for holding way more than they are.
