By the overtime period after the 15-round slugfest, Saban and Alabama were done. The Tide may be one of the only teams in college football history to not score a point in overtime.

is this another fun fact?

I'm sure there have been a few to turn it over in the first OT.

I think you're misunderstanding. It's happened before, he's just saying it's rare for a team not to score in OT when the drive starts on the 25.

Plus teams who go second, and the first team scores a TD. We did that to Tennessee in 2000.
I do agree that he means "rare" (one of the only) and not "only".

Oh, I hope so.
Eta: yeah, no way that's true. Maybe this year?

Nah brah.. You got this all wrong.
LSU vs. Bama in 08?
Ark vs. LSU in 09?
Just two in recent LSU games.
ETA: Auburn vs. LSU 05
Ole Miss vs. LSU 06

Then down 3-0 while on the Alabama 2 with time running out in the first half, Miles almost let the clock run out. But just before Flavor Flav had to be summoned for another neck clock delivery, quarterback Jordan Jefferson called timeout with one second to play. Drew Alleman came on to tie the game 3-3 on a 19-yard field goal.
Guilbeau the Envious cannot write an article without a backhand swipe.
At the end of the half - even the commentators were mentioning that Miles was already telling the Ref that he was going to call a timeout after that play and that he should look at Miles for the signal.
That is what happened BUT in Guilbeau Goobers Crappy Writing Factory, the Chief moron decided to rewrite history as usual.

OP sorry bro but you're a retard if you believe this

I am sure in 2009 Arkansas missed their field goal in overtime, and LSU won the game.

For the team to get the ball first and not at least get a field goal is kinda rare.

Leave it to GG to mis report the facts to try and bang Les
Les told the ref he wanted time out before the play was run, frick GG

I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually believe that. He really, truly is a poor writer. That's all.

Plus all of the teams that started the OT on defense and had to score a TD to tie it. It happens fairly often that they are forced to go for it on 4th and don't make it.

Guilbeau tries to write a favorable piece about Miles and blows it by making things up. Miles was feet away from the official letting him know a time out would be called. That was very clear on the CBS shot.
Guilbeau has an agenda and no credibility reporting on LSU.

Rare is when something does not happen very often. Like guilbeau writing something worth reading.
