Why don't we care? Because it's not a BCS game? Then we shouldn't have lost to Ole Miss. We didn't win the SEC West because our defense is attrocious and can't stop anybody. As it is, we're lucky that we got a New Year's Day bowl against a quality opponent. I just don't understand the "we don't care" mentality. We're not too good for the Outback Bowl. It's actually what we deserve, so I hope that the team and coaches are more excited than the fans are. We've lost our last 3 bowl games, so it's important that we win this one, and I hope to God that we have a good fan showing, otherwise it's gonna hurt us in the future. Maybe what our program needs is a few lean years to re-energize the fan base and make them appreciate winning again.

Please stop referring to a "New Years Day bowl" if it isn't one of the big ones.
A New Years Day bowl was a big deal 25+ years ago when only the big 4 bowls (Rose, Sugar, Orange, Cotton) were played on Jan. 1. The Fiesta was added more recently.
Now, there are numerous lower-tier bowls in January (the Heart of Dallas Bowl, UNLV vs. North Texas is on Jan. 1), so the "New Years Day" bowl thing doesn't mean squat to me, unless it's a BCS bowl.

It's a better bowl than we got last year, so that's a plus. We're not going to get an invite to one of the Big 4 every year, so our fans need to accept that and just support the Tigers wherever they end up. If you've got the Big 4 or Bust mentality, then you're gonna be unhappy most years. Next year will be interesting with the playoff taking the place of the BCS.

Not quite...we've lost the last 3 of 4. At least when we went to Cotton we got work done.
