by the numbers

1-100 100@8 = 800
101-250 150@6 = 900
251-750 500@4 =2000

total so far = 3700

if you use 4000 as the cut off, that's 3250@2 = 6500

now you are up to 10,200.

now you must also remember that students, players, coaches, band, legislators, lsu faculty, etc. all get tickets first. so unless that is over 7000 tickets, maybe #4000 is safe.

just numbers

by the way, the cut off in '07 was around 3150--but they had a lottery unlike this year. i know because my # was 3200 and i missed out on the lsu tickets. did get them through taf for those within a couple hundred of the cutoff.

In 2007 season ticket holders were allocated 9,500, but some of those were used in a lottery. Not sure how many were lottery and how many were strictly by points.

If 9,500 is the number they use this year, the cuttoff will be approx 3651.

It was 3145 and I was 3281. With no lottery I feel pretty confident around 3600.

Assuming there is no lottery and the ticket request are about the same, and the same amount of tickets going to season tick holders and 2000 tickets going to the lottery, 4145 would be a good guess at the cutoff.

Same for me. Lottery was not kind to me. The student allotment is not clear. I hear 2,000 which is more than LSU has ever given out. But word also said the Sugar Bowl Committee gives some students discounted tickets, not by much but like $100 off. So maybe that does not count against a schools allotment.

thanks going to have to be higher than 4000 or so it appears

Surely he left a cushion in there or there will be some ticked off donors if the cutoff is anything shy of 4000.

That assumes that everyone requested and received the max. There will be some that didn't put in for any, or that would qualify for 8 but only requested 4, etc.

I sure would like for some solid confirmation that there won't be any lottery.

I was doing my calculation based on 100% requests which I know is not likely like you said there will be people that did not get their form in or requested fewer. It won't be many but surely there's a few.

The confirmation that there is no lottery was in the email sent Oct 26th, it linked to this PDF LINK

It contains the following verbage:
quote:

For the 2011 post-season games, all points will be calculated as of October 31, 2011. If LSU plays in a game in which fans order more tickets than LSU is allotted, tickets will be distributed based on LSU Priority Point order. Seat locations will also be assigned based on LSU Priority Point order. LSU Athletics will allocate a portion of its allotment for official University purposes, with all other tickets awarded through the LSU Priority Point System.

curious about the TAF getting you tickets because you missed the cutoff by a few hundred.......how does that work........I missed in 2207 by about 100 points.

I received tickets like this also. Someone from TAF called me and told me that they had obtained additional tickets, and that I was next in line if I wanted to buy a pair, which I did.

Though the rank you see may not be correct in relation to where you were ranked on 10/31, the cutoff for points. Any donations people have made since that date are factored in. So it's possible that you were ranked better back on 10/31 versus today.

I didn't put in for SECCG game tickets but I did look up my rank as soon as I got back to my friend's place after the LSU v Ark game. It will be close, but I've got a shot!

That should be a good estimate of where you are ranked. I know there were some tradition fund donations that were paid before 10/31 that weren't loaded into the system until around 11/9 with a 10/31 date. So if you looked on 11/1, your official 10/31 rank may be lower than that. My rank went up about 130 between 10/31 and when my tradition fund was input.
