4000 is an estimate. Big donors at top could get 8 each, then 4...most donors 1000-4000 would get 2 until they be gone.

Have the numbers updated recently on the TAF site? Before Thanksgiving I logged into the TAF site and swear my ranking was about 1100 spots better than it shows this morning. Usually the points cutoff is Oct 31 for postseason games. I notice in my history there is "11/17/2011 Cash Pledge 2012 $100.00 Team TAF Champions Fund" along with an email that I got the other day telling me I can pay early and get credit for 2011 Tax Year. I figure some people have taken this action to get a little more knocked off on the 2011 taxes. So am I seeing things or not when I thought my ranking was better just a few weeks ago.

frick... I'm at 4,115!
Hopefully, 116 people ahead of me didn't request tickets!

I think they update as people donate, but the ranking they use for the postseason is whatever rankings were in place at 10/31.

Right, that's what i was thinking. Because I swear I was a good 1100 spots better a few weeks ago. I ran the calculations on tickets given worse case scenario (meaning everyone requested and received their max, no exceptions). For me it will come down to how many exactly are allotted for administration, support staff and students. In the past LSU has allotted 10% to students which would be 1700 but the word I am hearing is 2000 and some of those are discounted ever so slightly. I'm wondering if the discounted ones come out of LSU's allotment. If not, all the better for those of us on the fringe.

The cutoff in 2007 was right around 4000, if I recall correctly.

You're probably in slightly better shape than this. If you checked the site this morning, that's your standing as of TODAY and not the cutoff which was 10/31.

Gotta think that top 100 TAF point get 8 each and top 750 get 4 each - that is 3400 tickets if everyone requests. U also have to figure band, players, state rep, faculty and students. I would think that only 5500 tickets would be alotted to TAF season ticket holders, thus the number would be around 1800 TAF points. Thoughts?

It was frozen on 10/31 for bowl tickets.

In 2007 season ticket holders were allocated 9,500, but some of those were used in a lottery. Not sure how many were lottery and how many were strictly by points.

Correct but the reports that you can pull up on the TAF site use the current data as it's entered into the system. So if you've made a donation since 10/31 it is reflected in the current reports. Those of us that have not donated since 10/31 would be ranked worse than we were at the cut-off.

Your right... I was right above 4,000 at the cutoff. However, this is my philanthropic ranking, so I'm screwed!

Pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking. We are around 4000 pts and didnt even come close in 2007. I am not holding my breath on this year.

If I am not mistaken, only about 2,000 went to the lottery... and I got two of them..

I do not think the priority point made it to 4,000 in 2007. I was about 3800's back then and did not get them.

Link to the "no lottery" pretty sure the cut-off is where the lottery starts.

How many Priority Points do you have? Just curious... my ranking is 8300 and I have just under 12 Priority Points, I believe.

Thanks.

This is from LSU

LSU PRIORITY POINT RANKING SEC CHAMPIONSHIP BOWL GAMES
1 - 100 8
101 - 250 6
251 – 750 4
* 751 and above 2 (if available)
* No ranking 2 2 (if available)

Top tier gets 800, 2nd gets 900, 3rd tier gets 2000. So that's 3700 tickets before it goes to 2 tickets each. If we take out 2,000 for students that leaves 15,000 tickets. But there are also admin staff and players family etc that get allotted first. So how many do they give to admin and support staff?
