Thoughts on JJ and Mett on the field together?

I was listening to Rivals Radio and a caller phoned in and asked Bill King if he thinks Mettenberger will get the start next season. Bill King answered by saying LSU didn't bring in a big JUCO prospect like Mettenberger to not play him from the start of the season. He also went on to say that Jordan Jefferson isn't an NFL prospect at QB at all. The best thing the coaching staff can do for him is give him a shot at receiver.
I'm thinking this may not be that bad of an idea. Switch to a pro-style offense with Lee as the primary backup. Give JJ a shot as a possession receiver and maybe run some gimmick plays with 2 passers in the backfield. This is similar to what Auburn did with Cam Newton and Kodi Burns. No more QB controversy and also gives JJ a shot to stay on the field.

Just like Flynn and Perrilloux in '07?
Yes.
Mett's taller than Flynn though.
But all that stuff aside.....

I didn't notice that they were on the field at the same time.

JJ isn't an nfl prospect at receiver either. He wouldn't see the field at any other position at LSU

with the talented WRs we have at LSU, that would be a dumb idea IMO

It's been mentioned that LSU is looking for a taller receiver and giving him a shot at another position is better than the thought of rotating through 3 QB's(UF

I really just want 1 quarterback.. unless it's like a goal line package.. I still don't think JJ is that great of a runner..

Or would people be happier just to let him just watch from the bench...
That would make a lot more sense than making one of our natural receivers sit just because your trying to get JJ on the field. He'd probably rather be backup Qb than get in few plays a game at a position he's never played.

I just hope he doesn't go into meltdown mode when Les tells him he's not starting anymore

It wouldnt hurt to let him try if thats what he wants, during the spring. He is pretty tall and athletic. He prob has a good feel for reciever routs being that he is a QB. If the guy has good hands he may make some noise on the field next year as a reciever. I would hate to see him have to sit the bench after what he has been through. I do want Mett to be the starter @ QB next season, but I wouldnt mind JJ getting a chance at reciever.

I'm liking Bill King's logic here.

He really isn't all that fast and I don't want to sit one of our real receivers to help with his bruised ego.

Who's position do you want him to take? Randle? Shepard? Boone? Wright?
He won't be a better receiver than any of those guys.
Its a tough situation, but it happens everywhere (seniors sitting the bench that is). JJ will be a situational/backup QB most likely.
