The most impactful “speech” I ever received is when a coach just told us to go home after a bad loss. When we showed up for practice the next day the coaches weren’t there, just a note saying practice is cancelled and don’t bother coming back until we were ready to compete again.

Jay is doing something similar, we just didn’t have texting back then. Disappointment hits harder than anger sometimes

Yep. I coached high school basketball under a pretty solid coach for 4 years. At least once per season when practice wasn't going well he would just walk off and end practice. If it was late in practice he would shut it down short, but if it was earlier he would leave for 15-20 minutes and then come back. The message was always very well received loud and clear.

The Burreux's, and other posters like him, will never comprehend this. They have probably become accustomed to people being disappointed in them daily. That's why they are on here seeking attention.

That's ok. Most people don't know about team sports on here. You're just one of them.

I wonder what Skip used to text the team

Lost embarrassingly to UNO in New Orleans and he asked UNO to keep the lights on. Ran everyone until players were puking.

Players know they disappointed the fans and their coaches with their performance Tuesday. JJ didnt give them immediate closure because he wanted it to sting just a little bit longer.

I predict they’ll come out for the opener with TN like their hair’s on fire.

He didn't have the world's is actually unbelievable. You don't text your team something after a game like that you give a legitimate emotional speech. I've been a Jay supporter and still am but texting is not the way to get to your team after a performance like that.

My eighth grade football coach skipped practice the Monday after we played a terrible game. Our Assistant coach said that our coach didn’t think he should be around us right now. LOL!

But Skip led in classic fashion with; It's not your fault,

It’s my fault; I should’ve never recruited you.

I'm not quite sure i buy in to the notion that teams can just flip a switch and start playing lights out when they want to
