re: Those of you "fans" who are so anti-everything LSU football need a reality check

When your coach is getting paid like the "best of the best", and your 4 year recruiting average is 5th out of 127, what do should be a reasonable expectation??
Why is losing to teams with a 4 year recruiting average in the teens by double digits in consecutive years not something to look at and say "well theres no reason for that to happen" ??
Well, maybe you shouldn't predict success upon arbitrary recruiting rankings that are largely self-serving. Recruiting rankings don't even take into account positions of need, and teams that take full classes have higher rankings than those that don't. Pretty far from an exact science.
It also helps if the recruits that make up that average don't leave upon the first opportunity. I think our struggles in the past 4 years can be placed in large part to lack of on-field leadership.
But like I said before, I expect to win every game before it is played, and in large part due to your same reasoning. However, I don't just point to one metric after a loss and say "impossible! our 247 composite was so high in comparison!". There is a reason they play actual games and don't just call the season after NSD.

So new Philosophy for LSU football is no longer win baby win. It is now, If we don't win at least we finished second in the game and Championships are no longer the most important thing, participation and the want to win out weigh actual victories. Welcome to high school football with huge budgets

But some of us just strive for better.

What the OP and the rest of the people in here defending him are failing to understand is that these fans are not the only ones wanting Miles gone. The majority of the athletic higher ups were willing to pay the man a ton of money to leave. That in itself should tell you a lot about the current program. It's on a downward spiral with no destination in sight.

And I'd love to see a picture of the room this reply was written as well.

And what you don't understand is that some of the people you are accusing don't see a simple fix by just kicking Miles to the curb, and more importantly value some form of continuity. Firing a coach with no backup plan has more of a chance at sparking a downward spiral than keeping things as is. Further, overpaying for a coach just to get Miles out, while we are at a weak bargaining position, may lead us into the same exact position in the near future, with an even larger buyout.
Translation: just because someone didn't want Miles to leave in the manner in which it looked apparent, does not mean they think he needs to be the coach forever, and that we shouldn't be considering other options moving forward. I don't get why this is so hard for some of you to understand.

Define negative?? If some of us want more and expect more out of our football program I don't see that as "negative" at all.

Go be a St. John's fan. I'm sure your expectations are high too! Oh wait, do yall even play football there?

Then ignore the "bitch" threads. You don't have to read them. But what else can we as fans do when we're unhappy with the state of the program? We bitch and moan but in the end we will still be there cheering. The only substantive thing a fan can do is quit supporting the team financially. Of course, every time someone here says they'll do that, people like you sneer at them and calm them bad fans, etc.

played for another one in 2011. And Les Miles is responsible for 2 of those 4 events.
Sorry, LSU did not play for a title in 2011. The name may have been on the scoreboard, but the result was the worst offensive production in bCS history
But we do agree on the one point:
Les Miles is responsible for that

i think you're the jerk that came on here (an LSU board) and made fun of my post. LOL

right, so Alabama's consistent acquisition of top talent is largely overrated.
LINK
#1 - Alabama , 2012 NC winner, 2014 playoff semifinalist
#2 - Ohio St. , 2014 NC winner, undefeated in 2012
#3 - FSU, 2013 NC winner, 2014 playoff semifinalist
#4 - LSU , uh, they won some games, and stuff.
#5 - USC , coach resigned, probably would have been on the hot seat had he stayed
#6 - UGA , coach was fired
#7 - auburn , 2013 NC finalist , coach is now on the hot seat after 2 lackluster seasons.
#8 - UF , fired their coach last year
#9 - aTm , coach is on the hot seat
#10 - UT , coach is on the hot seat

Keeping Miles was the backup plan, I'm not sure how that is apparent to everyone at this point.

Well on this site, it literally defines you, which was your choosing. No need for name-calling, it doesn't make you look smarter, and I know it doesn't make you feel better.

A common excuse for defending Miles and explaining the losses to Bama and their usual competing for championships is their recruiting prowess. Can't have it both ways.

Yes I'm sure you know that for sure I guess you were in the meetings with the president and AD. people.
