Look for the 44ft motor home in the median on I-20 b/w Shreveport and Dallas. My uncle just had a blowout and had to put it in the median. He asked if I was on my way yet but I am not leaving until tomorrow. He's screwed.

We saw your Uncle getting towed out with TWO flat-bed, big-boy wreckers. I'm sure the other one was standing by just in case the other one got stuck. That was a STEEP drop on the median, too. Serious rolling hills between both directions of I-20 there!

Sorry to hear about your Uncle!

That sign outside of Shreveport has been there forever.

Y'all must not make it through there much.

Sounds like there were a lot of distracted drivers earlier on I-49! Hope y'all made it safe to DFW. ( I'm going by bus Sat am). When you get back to your room tonight and revisit this thread, here is a bit of light reading to dispel the myths of "The Port City"

True enough, when I was a kid growing up here in the 70's and 80's, this was a bit of an east TX town. About 70% Cowboy to 30% Saints and the boys fans where very vocal due to their success during that time. Also, most of the
college bound kids went to Tech. It was only the fortunate few that got to go to LSU.....then

In the early 90's game gambling and all those Texas tourist
spending their money in the Casinos wanted to come to
Louisiana not east TX, so the transformation began.

Then, late 90's maybe early 2000's, came the completion of I-
49. This transformed the trip from The Port to Baton Rouge
from a 6 hour hell ride down Hwy 1 to a 3.5 hour sprint.

Then in 03 NC 1

Then in 05' that bitch Katrina sent New Orleans scattering
with many ending up here and IMO galvanizing this state as
one nation under Boudreaux (although all y'all below Alex are
still a bunch of coon-arse's, you are our coon-arse's)

Then 07 NC #2

Then 09 Super Bowl Championship #1

And there you have it; The Port becomes a Louisiana town
with some Texas flavor with the majority of high school grads becoming Tigers. And the remaining Cowboy fans aren't as vocal as they used to be.

Sorry for the long post, but sitting here watching the Saints on
channel 6 and the Cowboys on channel 7 and " geeked" to get to the game on Saturday, it felt like the time was right...
