i’m curious wouldn’t TAF pay for his buyout and this not come directly out of LSU?

just off the top of my head, it would be a PR nightmare, #1 question would be if TAF can spend millions to make a coaching change why cant that money be used to supplement the salaries of other support staff? either way someone will be butt hurt over it.

First off, I wouldn’t have been dumb enough to sign Pelini in the first place

So how many big time coaches have you hired to get this high level of experience?

Finally, whatever the buyout is, I’m sure the booster baws are fine with splitting it to send him back to Ohio.

And from what mountaintop in Texas have you generated this level of insider information?

Back to basics, how much do you currently contribute to coaches salaries and how much more are you willing to pay?

How do we deal with the recruiting uncertainties created by our failure to deal with him?
For defensive prospects, will he be DC, or not?
Some may not care (I have no reports that Smith or Foreman are concerned), but this is certainly a possible issue.
Know this: we will be negatively recruited based on this uncertainty, probably by other DC who actually have recruiting skills.

Pelini can't be fired soon enough in my opinion. I guess that's what you get when you go from one of the youngest coaching staffs in the league to one of the oldest in the entire NCAA.

for me the real question is:

Why in the heck did O hire him in the first place? It has been a spectacular and 100% unmitigated failure. What really is going on with the defense. I cannot believe they are as awful as the stats say.

It would cost more to keep him.

There is no reason to fire Bo at this point.
you funny

Only one rea$on not to, and fairly obvious any more "development" by Bo is detrimental to the D.

My question is why Woody agreed to pay him so much? Pellini was not in demand and did not have a strong bargaining position and certainly did not rate a contract like he received.

Like Orgeron, both in his original hire (Alleva) and extension ( Woodward).

Bo ain't going nowhere. He will help recrut excellent D players and, given time, develop a good D.

No longer can the top teams be beat by making them complete passes down the field, they can do that. O and Bo see that. Bo will develop a D that gets sacks and TOs which will be needed.

Bo and O will be here until the end of '21 for sure, and well past that IMO.

No LSU coach is getting fired during a season marred by scheduling fiascos and COVID 19. No coach.

This is trash posting.

The best time to fire Pelini is when you would not owe him $5 million.

I currently spend $5,000 a year on Pelini alone, but I’m willing to increase it if it means he’s gone by Thanksgiving.
