When you aren't big, you have to work inside/out. Penetrate and pass. We do it some, but often we just stand around.

We are not a quick team. There are a lot of deficiencies on the team. Mayes is about the only guy who can drive to the hoop.
Wade will cure the problem with the incoming recruiting class.

Last year towards the end, Smart was a driving beast.

Maybe he can get back to that form.

The issues with this team that get them beat are clearly on the defensive end, not offensive.

That’s okay. Will’s going to fix it.

Streetball is just code for black guys losing a basketball game.

So we are little AND slow?

Our guards definitely are not as fast as most teams' backcourts. But we are quick enough to drive to the basket.

We do play a lot of steetball and it is intentional. Wade trust his guys to win one on one matchups and puts them in those positions by spreading the floor. So how about you shut upsnd go rant about something you understand.

You’re right that we also do run some isolation sets utilizing spacing and matchup advantages, and those are just that, sets. That’s not street ball. The people making these comments are implying we don’t have any sort of organized offensive plan, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

BS. I went to a Princeton game not too long ago and I could swear I was at Rucker Park.

You're right, but this also sounds like a straw man. The complaints are 10 to 1 about the defense, at least. That hasn't been improving, either.

I was never saying there aren’t more complaints about the defense than offense, I’m just saying anyone making those comments about the offense is completely out of touch.

The “streetball” comment is usually followed, they don’t ever run “plays”. As if this were a junior high team that had to run sets (not called plays) to generate offense. Really shows the lack of knowledge of the person posting. Despite our offensive efficiency being one of the best in the country, these idiots keep posting it.

Some people really have no idea what motion offense sets look like.
ive got a really good idea what a motion offense is, and we don’t run one.

Why is our offensive efficiency so good?

Purely talent?

Man I can’t tell you how many places I’ve seen “we are out there just playing ‘backyard ball’ or “street ball”

The most hilarious thing about the announcers that say this is that they are typically white middle class commentators who were brought up playing ONLY by the rules.

They've never seen street ball.

Hey, John Thompson III ran the Princeton offense at Georgetown when he coached there. Didn't work out for him there. But middle aged white folks like me still love to see that type of offense.

Had an old friend of mine that I played ball with in high school and college say just yesterday to me the same thing, "LSU just plays street ball."

We ran an offense we called passing game in high school that was a motion offense with off ball screening against man and we ran a simple pop a man in the middle and go inside out against zone.

I guess he wants us to run something like that, or maybe the weave I don't know. We are third in the country in offensive efficiency. I don't know that we'd be any better or even as good running any of those offenses with the players we have than what we are doing now.

For me that's the simple, bottom line answer I give him and I think I would give anyone when they start that.

Where’s he coaching now?

It’s odd to me that so many here think we “play street ball” yet Bruce Pearl will tell you Coach Wade is an outstanding offensive coach

Right. I mean, what does Pearl know compared to the posters here?
